Perfect place to stay if you want to be close to the airport or Colombo City and don't want to stay in Negombo or Colombo Centre itself; very clean, spacious and bright room; felt very secure; just across the railway to the beach; very friendly and helpful staff; their café does very good food for a very reasonable price as well. I would definitely stay there again.

The guesthouse is located next to some train tracks, though we were not too disturbed by the noise.

The staff were very attentive and friendly, we really appreciated their help and hospitality. The location was excellent, right near the beach and the sea was visible from the balcony. The air conditioning functioned well and the room was clean.

Please don't go to the restaurant named 'Sugar Beach' that is located in front of the hotel (facing beach). Foods are not tasty and not value for money.

Overnight stay only so can't comment. Room and bed good. For the price compared to everywhere we have stayed I think breakfast should have been included for the price.

No breakfast, one of the few that didn't have it included in price so therefore we felt it was a bit overpriced. Owner manager and staff were very friendly, restaurant we went to across the train tracks was great but expensive when compared to everywhere else we have been. Great beach within walking distance and in front of restaurant. Location great for beach, but we were only here one night. They arranged for tuk tuk to take us to the train. Even though the view doesn't look the greatest from the deck and you have to walk across the railway line to the restaurant and beach this is Sri Lanka.

Nothing to dislike. Great home stay.

We had an amazing stay here. The hosts, Sam and Steph, are the most kind, welcoming people you could meet. The staff are very helpful, nothing was a problem for them. The Sri Lankan omelette for breakfast was the best I'd had in the three weeks of travelling the country. Mount Bay Guest House rooms have all that you would expect at more expensive hotels. All the boxes are ticked. A very comfortable stay.

The doors didn't close so well so the train noise was very loud.

Lovely clean and spacious room. We spent 2 comfortable nights. Good beach restaurant, a 5 min walk. We enjoy Jo Jo's place. Friendly host. We didn't have breakfast here, but were able to buy morning tea. We had a nice big balcony. And the AC/fan combo worked brilliantly.

Sometimes you could hear the train but I guess that’s the story for almost all the hotels in Mt. Lavinia.

I had a great stay at the Mount Bay Guest House. The room and bathroom were very clean and spotless.It was large and air-conditioned, and had a balcony. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated near the beach, restaurants on the beach. I definitely recommend this accommodation and would stay there again if I visited Sri Lanka again in the future.

Only thing is railway track is nearby. when the trains passes feeling little vibrations with heavy noise. But its okay when compared to all positive notes.

We had a misunderstanding with the owner because of the cheating staff working as receptionist there. Otherwise all facilities are perfect while affordable and Best for foreigners. Any way we look forward to getting good deals in the future.
