Perched high in the hills with a fantastic view of the surrounding jungle. Very quiet except for bird song. In and out of the clouds and warm rain making it atmospheric. It's cooler up here which is welcome. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Being double aspect made it feel light and airy. For the first time we did not need to use the A/C. Dinner and breakfast were served in the ‘old hospital ward’ which had attractive open arches overlooking the garden, pool and the incredible views. It was lovely sitting here especially in the rain. The food was good and we felt welcome. This place is wonderful for getting away from the craziness of the towns. Unfortunately we didn’t get to swim but the pool did look lovely and clean. We went for a walk and spotted many different tree types including rubber, coffee and cashew nut.

This beautiful property in Matale was the perfect little slice of heaven. It is well out of the way of everything so expect peace and quiet, which is exactly what we wanted. Christo & his team could not do enough to make the stay with them very enjoyable. The breakfast was amazing and the dinner they made for us was without a doubt one of the best we had in our time in Sri Lanka. I would highly recommend staying here as it gives you the opportunity to fully relax and enjoy the gorgeous Mountain View’s with an infinity pool. The bedroom was comfortable and just what we needed for our night spent here.

The staff were amazing, they couldn’t do more for us if we asked. We had come from a few busy days and my partner wasn’t feeling well, they really took care of us and also let us relax, along side this we had some amazing Sri Lankan food!

We only had one night here. Beautiful location. dinner was a delicious classic Sri Lankan meal and breakfast was a great omelette cooked up by the wonderful Ashoka. The views are spectacular from the top of the hill. Also great view from the pool. Christo was also very welcoming and made our stay as comfortable as possible. He also took us on a bush walk around the property showing us all the different plants, herbs and fruits. If you’re lucky like we were you may spot a few wild elephants as well as the roam the hills around the property.

We had a truly amazing experience here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and comfortable. The food was amazing and the chef made sure the spice levels was too our liking. The pool overlooking the mountains was truly magical and was the icing on the cake for this wonderful property. We wish we had more time here.

Great stay! The place is 10min off the main road which makes it accessible while you have the feeling of being lost in nature. I am a solo traveler traveling with public transport. The bus dropped me on the main road and I walked up to the hotel (but you can also get a tuk-tuk of course). The room was good. The view with the swimming pool is amazing. Cristo, the manager of the hotel, took me for a walk in the forest around the hotel. We also visited the farm that belong to the owner of the hotel. Don't hesitate to ask Cristo for a walk. The staff was nice. The chef made us rice and curry in the evening.

We loved our stay at Paradise Forest Garden! It’s a little off the beaten track, but well worth it for the cosy, boutique-style atmosphere that feels more like a homestay. The staff were incredibly attentive, making our experience even more special. The pool overlooks the mountains, creating one of the most breathtaking backdrops I’ve seen. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely hot shower and great water pressure. The real highlight was the staff—so friendly, attentive, and genuinely interested in making our stay perfect. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts and the amazing, varied dinners prepared by a talented in-house chef. Nothing was too much trouble! A few sun loungers by the pool would have been nice (as there are only chairs or grass), but otherwise, it was perfect! This isn’t ideal for those just passing through or using their room as a base, as dinner each evening seems to be expected. It was perfect for us, but if you plan to be out all day or prefer to eat elsewhere, this may not be the best fit. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We were a bit unlucky as there was a group of young people next to us who were having a good time and caused some noise disturbance. In the end, we managed to sleep with earplugs. To complete the holiday experience, a few extra drinks with the meals would be welcome, like a beer, soda, or something similar.

Beautiful location with a great view. There is also a lovely pool to relax in. The rooms are fine, with a nice bathroom as well. The staff was very friendly and had pleasant conversations with us. Dinner and breakfast were typically Sri Lankan and well taken care of.

If you have light sleep you may need earplugs as you can hear a lot the tv of your neighbor.

We had one night here with diner and breakfast. Food was AMAZING ! Many thanks to the chef and the "waiter" we had a blast eating here. The room was nice with a private bathroom and hot water. We enjoyed the sunset from the swimming pool on the moutains.

The building is a little old so have a bit of broken or chipped wood but this is barely noticeable. Management does an excellent job of constantly repairing it.

It was one of the most amazing stays we had. We were well taken care of and the food was out of this world. They make all the food in house and it’s super delicious. Edward, the manager speaks really good English and will accompany you on giving tips around what can be done in the area. The hotel is placed in a calm estate so you hear birds and insects and a lot of nature. Overall it was a superb stay and we wish we could stay there for a bit longer.

The road up was dreadful. It needs signs and substantial repairs.

I was treated nicely, as a sole guest. It felt a little remote up on a hill by myself. The silence was so profound, I missed the elephants that apparently broke the trees near my car.

They added 10 % service charge to the total bill. It is standard to pay a service charge on service but this was the first time we were asked to pay the charge on the room rate and the added taxes. This made it quite pricey overall. There was an ant infestation in the shower. The pool is looking grubby. No seperate towels provided for pool. No signal for the TV.

This is a very quiet location, surrounded by jungle. The evening meal and breakfast were both very filling. The host was very friendly.

It's dirty, filthy. The room was awful, the bed sheets were stained and shorter than the bed. The mattress was stained. No wifi, half the lighting was not functional. We picked up this hotel because it was recommended in the French guide "Le routard", but they must have never seen it. The pictures on Booking must have bee taken years ago; the pool is not blue as the pictures shows it but green. Only the staff was welcoming.
