Excellent apartment, clean and tidy. Superb location and the sunsets from the rooftop are priceless. The hosts (=owners) were there at the time when we stayed at Daranur. They are a super friendly couple who provided us with very good recommendations. They put all their heart into this property (the stylish and cozy decoration speaks for itself!). They go above and beyond to make their guests feel at home. We had a really great time staying at Daranur. Gracias!

We have stayed in Essaouira 3 times now, and Riad Daranur is easily our favourite place to stay. The hosts made us feel so comfortable. It felt like home very quickly for us. The bed is delightfully comfortable and it is in the perfect location for exploring. The terrace also has the best view from a Riad we've ever seen!!

This has been the perfect place to spend a few relaxing days in Essaouira. The hosts make you feel very welcome. The interior design is beautiful! Like the perfect mix of traditional moroccan elements and more modern art and music. The terracce on the top is just as nice as it looks and it overlooks a rocky slope down to the sea. Nothing, it was all excellent

The view on the terrace was excellent and the placement of the riad in the medina was ideal. we just walked out of the riad and we were there, right in the markets of the medina. That being said, the room was not at all noisy as it was just off one of the main streets

My stay at "Darantur" in Essaouira was an unforgettable experience, marking my first visit to both Morocco and this charming city. The location of Darantur is simply unbeatable - conveniently close to everything you might want to see and do, yet situated in a tranquil spot where relaxation comes easily. The room we stayed in was adorably quaint, equipped with all the essentials needed for a comfortable stay. What truly set this place apart was the beautiful rooftop terrace, offering a serene space for breakfast or a peaceful tea time, embracing the essence of Essaouira's laid-back atmosphere. However, the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the staff. They deserve a perfect score of 10/10 for their exceptional friendliness and hospitality. The Riad was truly nice, with the most sweetest welcome by Hassan. The room was cozy as the rest of the Riad and the rooftop terrace was amazing. Since it’s higher then the neighbor houses you have the most amazing view. I loved to stay there and have a coffee while enjoying the view and listening to the seagulls and the noises from the streets.

It pains me to write this but I rely on honest reviews so this is our subjective opinion. We took the apartment with the private kitchen on the top most floor. It’s my mistake that I dint pay attention to the lack of air conditioner. When we arrived it was so hot with the afternoon sun beating on the bedroom window. There is not even a table fan. We stayed for two nights. The next day it cooled down but it rained so again the opened windows made it humid inside. I’m just guessing maybe the lesser priced apartments with. I kitchen probably would be better since they are one floor lower and hence cooler? Even though the apartment is very cute in a bohemian type of way, there is a plethora of small arts and such which were dust collectors. I saw myself dusting many times with a kitchen towel before I realized it’s our vacation. The point is it’s not very hotel sterile. Lastly the stairs are narrow and winding and it was a hassle to climb the 3 floors with them. We booked this because of the rooftop view and space but honestly there are much cleaner places with air con at the same price point nearby.

The apartment is very central. You step out and you are right in the Medina very close to the fish market and such. The rooftop view is too pretty and we took some amazing sun set shots. The bed is really comfy and felt very clean not like the rest of the space. The caretaker Milouda is very sweet and kind. Even though she didn’t know much English, her kind gestures and smile really made a difference to the stay! The owner is also very responsive over texts and helpful.

Would stay again.

This is a small and simple Dar that feels like part of the town. It isn’t a modern or fancy hotel but has a home feel. It has a beautiful terrace with a fully equipped kitchen and fridge. The hosts spoke no English, but we speak no french or arabic so no complaints and not something we require or expect of the host. They were so kind and made us coffee/tea upon our arrival. They cleaned the room daily as well. The location was perfect and check in was easy. For the price, this place is unbeatable. Comfy beds, good facilities and always felt safe.

location is very good near the market and its music is fantastic, you can see the sunrise and sunset on the top floor. because we take the bus at 17:00 after checkout, the host let us put the luggage at the lobby.

The riad is really cozy, clean, and very tastefully decorated. Both Milouda and Hassan were wonderful, welcoming hosts. There is a small kitchen on the terrace that all guests can use to cook food (spices are provided by Daranur, and you can buy the ingredients at the market down the street). The highlight of this place is the roof terrace. The view of the ocean and Medina is amazing. It's the perfect spot to watch the sunset/ sunrise. We stayed here for three nights and spent most of our time walking through the Medina. The riad is ideally located if you are interested in exploring by foot.

Although nothing to do with the property, the Mellah can feel uninviting at night.

The most beautiful place we stayed in during our trip to Morocco! The home is owned by a lovely couple who are always attentive and welcoming; they greeted us when we arrived with tea on their terrace. The rooms are decorated beautifully and are very comfortable. Everything was spotless and the home even smells amazing! You can enjoy a mint tea whenever you like on the terrace and there is also a hammock :)
