Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing. What more could you ask for in the desert?
Stunning location. Simple but delicious authentic food. Swimming pool in the desert so refreshing. Arrived in a dust storm but added to the authenticity. Didn’t bother with excursion’s just went running. We will return.

MoroccoThe rooms were a bit dated i.e. the hot water boiler in our room was very old and small. So taking two showers was impossible in the time of hot water. We had to wait long before my partner could take a second hot shower but this is just a minor detail in the experience.
The hotel has a perfect location in within walking distance to the dunes. Furthermore, the hotel is a very cozy place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The food and service were lovely and we felt greatly taken care of.

NetherlandsIf anything at all, the breakfast could use an upgrade or be sure to be one of the first to get to the buffet. However, if you choose to have lunch and/or dinner there, you'll forget all about breakfast.
I don't think you can get a better spot near Merzouga and I don't think you can get a better staff. Everybody goes out of their way to make you feel welcome, especially Youssef. Also, you won't believe the view and the authentically build rooms.

Great location on the edge of the desert and good facilities- the pool was very welcome during the heat of the day. The owners were also very helpful - we went on an overnight trip into the desert and enjoyed it enormously.

United KingdomJust that they don't accept cards, bring cash with you! Lots of mosquitoes of course, but nothing you would not expect! The rooms are nice and you are not to stay inside, but a bit of more light would be appreciated. Nevertheless, minor things compared to the amazing experience we lived there.
Amazing place! We were very greatly welcomed by the family who owns the place with some tea and indications and a proper dinner! We were offered great experiences with lots of flexibility. In our case, we chose a 4-hour tour around the Sahara with the chance to meet the nomad Amarzigh people. We saw the camels and the oasis, and we could see all the sand with amazing views. At night, we went on a camel trip which is around 30 min each way, with an hour break at the top of the dunes to see one of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen. The place is amazing with very nice rooms, the pool is very clean and the food is great. The guys are all amazing and helpful. A very recommended place and experience in the very entrance to the desert!! Indeed the dunes are just in front of the Kasbah!

New ZealandNot much! Small note that wifi didn’t reach all the bedrooms but that wasn’t a problem for us.
Great views of the desert and fantastic host who offered us a welcome tea and arranged for us to have dinner that night as well as a buggy tour organised last minute. Dinner was great! Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Pool was good to cool down.

Netherlands-
The host was great, a very nice person! He gave us a nice welcome tea and told us a lot about the surroundings. He offered us a great quad tour and we could have booked a camel ride too, but we already booked one so we didn't. That was no problem and it was also no problem to stay until we were expected at the camelride. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place!

NetherlandsAwesome stay. At arrival we got a free upgrade to the suite, a fantastic room. Decoration and ambiance of the place were perfect. You could look into the dessert. The meals were good and staff was very friendly. We also booked a dessert stay in their own camp, which was amazing. We definitely recommend. We even could leave our stuff a day longer in the room, when we were in the dessert stay.

The Kasbah Azalay is an amazing place for a relaxed stay before or after visiting the desert. The room was big and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We’d had a couple of long days of driving so wanted to relax, play games and swim. We did all these things! The people were very friendly and relaxed and the food was great!
