Of the four riads I've stayed at during my trip thus far, this has definitely been the highlight (the other three were nice as well!). The common areas and my rather spacious suite were beautifully furnished and decorated. Breakfast was good and was served on the roof terrace with views of the city and the ocean. Centrally located inside the Medina, but the rooms are very quiet thanks to their inward location. If I return to Essaouira in the future I'll definitely book Riad Al Zahia again.

We liked everything. However a nice addition would be a sun lounger as there’s is only one available for anyone wishing to relax on the roof terrace and catch some rays. There are shaded areas to relax so this is a small thing.

Wonderful riad in the heart of the medina. Clemente is a charming and helpful host with lots of practical tips and information which made our stay in Essaouira even more enjoyable. The Riad has the added bonus of being directly opposite Moga Yoga so morning yoga an extra treat. Highly recommend booking Al Zahia - it’s a special place.

Everything was perfect for me.

This Riad is lovely - a little haven of peace and tranquility in the heart of the medina and close to the city ramparts. The staff were so welcoming and kind and one staff member even walked me out of the medina to my car when I had to leave very early in the morning as he didn't want a solo woman walking alone - I was so grateful to be accompanied for help with the directions. They were also willing to offer me an early coffee and simple breakfast before departure. The roof terrace is very pretty. My room was really big and the bed was so comfy with lovely cotton bed sheets. Very happy with my choice, and the price was so reasonable.

Lighting could be improved in walkways. If you have difficulty walking, watch ou for stairs especially at corners. Wifi in 2nd floor was just OK.

Great place to stay in Essaouira. Beautiful decor and lounges. Inside the old town. Lovely riad rooms, the place has a lovely old world charm about it. Decent breakfast served on the roof terrace as well. Stayed here before, would stay again!

There was a misunderstanding with out tranfer feom and to Marrakech, we booked them through riad zahia and at the last minute our driver inform us that we have to pay him directly beacause the guys at the hotel forgot to inform us about the payment! Finally we find a solution

Everything!!! Such a beautiful place, huge rooms, so comfortable, everything one needs. And soooooo quiet, I slept so well. Cleanliness was top notch both in the room and throughout the riad. The staff was excellent, accommodating, very charming. Breakfast was lovely and they do laundry - a big plus when traveling for weeks.

When we booked a two bedroom apartment for 4 adults we didn't expect that the front door would be via one of the bedrooms and that you would have to walk through one of the bedrooms to use the bathroom. In essence no privacy for one of the bedrooms. It is on the 4th or 5th floor and its a very narrow staircase, so be prepared for some exercise getting your luggage up and down. We also booked on basis of washing machine for use, but it was a paid laundry service, this could be better communicated in the advertisement, getting stung $40 Euro for laundry was disappointing since we did the washing ourselves.

Spacious and bright apartment with lovely roof top terrace for breakfast which was delicious. Great choice of restaurants right outside your door.

Not in their control but the room mainly had a view of the demolished building next door. One of the rooms had a bit of an ocean view.

Great location 5-7 minute walk from the place the minibus dropped us and close to the ramparts, shops and restaurants. The Soikana suite was perfect with 2 rooms and shared bath. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful.

A wonderful stylish Riad to stay in. In the old town. The suites are really spacious, and the rooftop terrace is really nice too. The decor is beautiful and the staff are really pleasant!
