Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandThink the top rooms will be very hot in summer .. aircon might be good. But our room on the ground floor was lovely and cool.
Location was excellent in centre of Medina. The riad is beautifully decorated. Our ground floor room was nice and cool in the heat of the summer. There's is no aircon though. Staff was lovely and friendly. Breakfast is very simple but nice.

GermanyThe breakfast was just bread, butter, and honey and mint tea, We just expected a bit more. Also, we had not even checked in and the man was talking about taking us to his mother's carpet shop and how we could ship it home. We just felt quite pressured and it's bad enough outside, we wanted to relax in our hotel.
The decor, the room, the terrace, the tea on arrival was all fantastic.

NetherlandsWe struggled to contact them to enter the Riad, so we had to go for a walk and go back later. Also, it was a bit hard to find, but for those who come after us I’d say to follow the main road down fez, and go into the small alley (with low ceilings, on your right) on the first wall you encounter and you are forced to take a hard left to keep going into the medina 😃 just a tip
The people there were very friendly and flexible with us. They also tried to help us with tours and places to eat, but we had plans so had to decline.

United KingdomThe room was located on the ground floor, only seperated from the lobby by a see-through door, which meant there was very little privacy. The Riad is also very difficult to find, with the entrance being located in a narrow alley.
I loved the comfort and cozy home feeling that our host, Zakaria, welcomed us with. The Riad itself was beautiful and very well maintained, definitely giving the feeling of being one with Fes. The constant offerings of tea and many different guides and services were truly amazing. The rooftop terrace was also stunning, with breathtaking views of the entire Medina.

HungaryThe staircase is very narrow and high, we needed the porter to take our luggage to the rooms.
Not the most comfortable house we have stayed, but imagine, we stayed in an original one-thousand-years old riad! The way to get there worth a story! It's in the middle of the medina, but near to the most interesting places. The owner is very helpful, gives us a lot of tips to experience the town.

Spain-- I didn't like the BREAKFAST at all, it wasn't even included in the price. I had to pay extra money (in addition to my stay) to receive a decent breakfast, but all l got was the worst breakfast I've ever had in a hotel (no bread, no olive oil, no cheese, no eggs, no coffee, no orange juice,, nothing of the kind of breakfast you would receive during your stay anywhere in Morocco).I had to go hunting for a decent breakfast for five days in Fes El Bali. -- We found a huge cockroach in the showers which made using the bathroom very annoying afterwards, especially for my wife. -- The Riad itself is veeeeeery overrated and expensive compared to other Riads in the same area. Photos of the Riad and its rooms online mismatch the reality. It looks waaaay better online. You can find better options for less. -- No basic toiletries: like toilet paper, soap, shampoo, etc.
The location was great, close to Bab Boujloud, but it was located at the end of a dark narrow alley. The host was welcoming and helpful, he is in fact the best thing about the Riad. Air conditioning in the room was a life saver during our 5-night stay. Another thing we liked was the quietness and calm at night. The riad has a nice terrace with city view.

Czech RepublicWe had a room in the ground floor, which had no windows, which made it very dark and the room had a weird smell. The alley leading to the hotel is very narrow and dark, especially in the evening hours.
The receptionist was super nice and helpful (and great english). We ended up not staying 2 nights as we intended and he was so nice and gave us half the money back, which was not necessary. The hotel has a rooftop terrace.

United KingdomThe host goes above and beyond—offering a level of care, presence, and attention to detail that exceeds even high-end hotels. Every request was met with warmth and grace, and nothing was ever forgotten or delayed. The space itself is beautiful, but what truly gives this riad its soul is the host’s energy. You don’t just stay here—you’re looked after. That alone makes it rare.

The toilet facilities are outside of the room and has to be shared with other customers( despite advertised as private bathroom) Parking is not available ( despite advertised parking available) The staff (Amine ) is very rude and not welcoming and very argumetive with customers ( if you don't like it go somewhere else 🙄) Toilet facilities are old and dirty

SenegalThe pictures are far beyond different from the reality. We used to stay in Riad but this one was so tiny for family with kids. We have been disappointed it was not what attracted us through the pictures. Also the hot water was not available in the wash basin... The breakfast has been served directly in the cup knowing how cold Fes is we needed to reheat the coffee before enjoying it.
We have been warmthly welcomed by the staff with the traditionnal morrocan tea.

Costa RicaWe had a double bed and a single one. The small bed was very hard. It was difficult to find the place, but people in the medina were friendly enough to call, and one of the sons came to pick us up and could reach the place.
The place is in the medina, colorful, joyful, full of people, ancient. The family is very helpful and friendly. Good food, good views of the old city from the terrace. They organised with an agent a wonderful trip to the mountains Atlas.

United KingdomLocation of this Riad is absolutely perfect. It’s situated in the middle of the medina so you don’t have to walk far to experience Fès. The owners were really friendly and super helpful! They upgraded our room after the first night, extended our stay by 3 nights, and organised 2 day trips to Meknes and Chefchaouen for us. We would definitely come back again.

BelgiumDisappointing experience with overcharging and review manipulation. I want to share my bad experience with this hotel to prevent other travelers from facing the same issue. I booked a room on Booking.com for the very reasonable price of 11 euros, as confirmed by the platform. However, upon my arrival at the hotel, I was greeted by an employee named Zakaria, who immediately informed me that the price I had paid was incorrect according to their "internal system." He told me that the real price of the room was three times higher than what was shown on Booking.com. Zakaria tried to justify this difference by saying that their system did not show the price I had booked on Booking.com. Despite my efforts to show him my reservation and the price indicated, he continued to insist. Additionally, he made personal claims, mentioning that he was from the "Prophet's lineage," which seemed like an attempt to influence or pressure me into accepting this unfair situation. Later on, he offered to let me stay in the room at the original price of 11 euros, but only under one condition: that I leave a very positive review with ten stars for this hotel on Booking.com. This attempt to manipulate reviews is unacceptable and goes against basic ethics. I have never encountered such an issue before in my many hotel bookings, and this was the first and most frustrating experience. In the end, I refused to pay the inflated price or to give in to his demands. I told him clearly that I was not going to stay in the room at that price, and I left the hotel. This is a very regrettable situation, and I strongly advise all travelers to be extremely cautious when booking this hotel. I also recommend that Booking.com reassess their partnership with this establishment to prevent other clients from having a similar experience.
