Every day they have a digger and a large truck on the beach moving the seaweed. I understand why they do it but it does ruin the calm Aesthetics of the resort. During our calming massage there was a man walking around with a leaf blower puffing some kind of smoke out to kill or get rid of the mozzis. However, it set the smoke alarm off. They do this at the same time each day and we wernt told. It was a lot of money to spend for a semi relaxing experience. When we arrived we were told how to book into the al a carte restaurants. However when we looked there were no available bookings for 4 days. The first night dinner at the buffet was very tasteless which we mentioned. After that it was great! It would be nice to perhaps reserve some tables for the first or second night of people's stays in the al a carte perhaps. Whilst we didn't come to the resort looking for any freebies, it was a little annoying to speak to multiple people who paid the same or less than us who got offered bottles of champagne on arrival, complimentary excursions and free room upgrade for their honeymoon. People reserving sunbeds....need I say more. There are notes around asking people not to reserve before 10am, however they are reserved as soon as people wake up at like 7am, which is a little frustrating.

The staff at this resort made the place! Everyone is friendly and can't do enough for you! The pool and beach location was great and what we were looking for from our honeymoon. Our room was at the end of the resort next to the spa so it was quiet and calm. The beds are huge and mattresses super comfy! We did the 5 island tour booked with Chris on the beach which was amazing! We saw dolphins, turtles, tortoise, rays and monkeys! The taxi rank in the hotel allows you to book excursions with local taxi drivers so thr money goes back into the local economy rather than the tour operators. The guys at the beach bar are a laugh and will mix and match things for you. The main buffer restaurant has a great selection. The curry is amazing! Meat, lentil dhal and veggie. You're in Mauritius and it's what they do best! All in all its a lovely little resort with lovely staff. If you are looking for free flowing booze, a pool and a beach then this is your place. It was a great base for us to explore the gorgeous island!

The rooms are a bit outdated. All of them have a sea view so we regretted paying for a bigger one since the only additional thing about it was extra space in the room that wasn’t used and a balcony that was nice to have but we were out all the time so it didn’t get any use either.

The resort is so serene and it’s great to hear the birds chirping as you walk around under the coconut trees or palm trees. It’s nice to have both the pool and the beach area as people spread out and neither ends up being overcrowded. We enjoyed the option of dining in the different restaurants at no additional cost to switch things up. Also got a birthday cake on my birthday dinner and the room decorated for the occasion, which was really nice. They have a calendar filled with activities every week, so you don’t end up getting bored. The free water activities are a great addition.

The young bar attendants and waiters were great, but just a little confidence and interpersonal skill building workshops would make it perfect. They seemed a bit shy.

The front desk staff were amazing from check-in to the checkout and for everything else in between. Deena was amazing and went out of his way to ensure that we were being well taken care of. He made our Christmas dinner a bit more special as it was my birthday. The spa was the highlight of our stay. Raksha and Reena were amazing, and so was their manager, Binda. We had forgotten that children existed until we got back to the airport. Overall, our stay at the Ambre was AMAZINGLY relaxing as that it was we precisely went there to do. Will definitely do Ambre again.

The water flow in the bathroom (shower and sink) was very slow The dinner booking is always full (no space) although the dinner was included in our room price.

The location/view is pretty good. The buffet (breakfast and dinner) are good.

Parking place is somewhat busy. Front desk reception is unfriendly. Cockroaches are often found in restrooms and buffets.

The beach is wide and there are some fish to see. The swimming pool is also great for taking pictures. Golf course is amazing and very friendly.

unclear (and often unusual) resteraunt opening times, unclear when things weren’t included as part of all inclusive, things that were not seemed exorbitantly priced, some staff extremely slow with orders or just forgot them, some staff pushy with the “free” boat trips etc, resort a little tired in places and needs TLC, water running down our toilet wall…

Phenomenal beachfront and ocean views!!!!!! Belle Mare is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!!!! Beautiful room & hotel. The upgrade to a room with a view of the ocean......gorgeous!!! Exceptional breakfast & dinner buffet...with dinner options/variety+++++. Extremely attentive and helpful manager, Mr Rakesh Rai ensured a wonderful and memorable stay and managed to extend our stay when our flights were delayed even though the Resort was extremely busy. Thanks Sir, for your sterling efforts!!! Thanks to Parlene for always ensuring a tidy and clean room with a smile on her face. Thanks to our waitress Priyanka for always checking up on my 90 year old mom at meal times.

the staff were excellent. jaya and her supervisor Mrs Brinda went all the way to make my stay comfortable We arrived late and tired after a long trip and Jaya had two complimentary meals sent to our room, upgraded us to a sea view and allowed us a late check out as our flight was 10pm. Overpriced taxi in the hotel. If you go out 100meters out of hotel taxi will cost 50% less.

Beach was clean and wonderful there was enough place for all. Food was fresh and tasty, a lot of seafood as well.

They say that you will pay your stay in MUR but then they charge you in Euro . We ended up paying more than the original price because the rand got weaker when we had to pay.
