Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MauritiusWe recently stayed at Kaz’Alala, and it was a truly relaxing and memorable experience. From the start, the hospitality was exceptional. Jayah at reception was incredibly kind, explained everything clearly, and made us feel right at home. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a family room—such a thoughtful gesture! The room was spacious, with one large bed and two smaller ones, and it even had two private bathrooms. Everything was spotlessly clean. The decor had a charming, old-fashioned feel, reminiscent of the 1960s or earlier, which added to its unique character. The room also included modern conveniences like a safe, a desk, and very comfortable beds. The shared living area was a nice touch, complete with a kettle, tea, and glasses, perfect for unwinding in the serene surroundings. The landscaping was beautifully maintained, with lush greenery and peacocks roaming the garden, creating a peaceful and natural ambiance. There’s also a small but clean swimming pool on the property, which was rarely used and perfect for a quiet dip. One of the highlights of our stay was the access to facilities at two nearby hotels, the beach club, and the Château de Bel Ombre. This was an incredible bonus that added variety and luxury to our trip. Whether it was the stunning beach or exploring the historical charm of the château, it truly elevated our experience. Dinner at the restaurant was delightful. Chanesh, who oversees the restaurant, was attentive, helpful, and ensured that we had a wonderful dining experience. Note that reservations are required for dinner, which makes everything feel organized and stress-free. Kaz’Alala is the perfect escape from modern life, offering tranquility, beautiful surroundings, and excellent service. Highly recommended for anyone looking to disconnect and recharge!

SwitzerlandLocation is somewhere nowhere. Difficult to get to even by car. The room was large but the facilities were authentic but average. Would recommend if you have reservation for waterplane for underwaterfall since this is very close to the lagoon.
An authentic hotel with its own garden and swimming pool, permeated with the local atmosphere. If you like the mixture of golf court and the feeling of wildness, this would be a nice place to stay.

PolandBreakfasts could be more diverse on day-to-day basis.
The place is located in surroundings of beautiful nature, with tropical trees and birds chirping at your hand's reach. The rooms are clean, spacious and well-equipped. The staff is extremely helpful. Living in Kazalala allows you to access you Beach Club in Telfair Resort, which is a superior enhancement of the offer.

LithuaniaOur group of 9 people had a pleasant stay at Kazalala Hosted B&B for 2 nights. Especially grateful for the receptionist Jayah, who was very helpful, answered our questions and let us leave our luggages after the check out. The hotel is nice, the rooms are comfortable and unique local style. The breakfast could have more variety.

South AfricaThey need to review their evening set menu. The food was good but they serve the same menu on two consecutive nights. There should be a new set menu every night or alternatively they should only have an al a carte menu. The latter would be my preference.
They have a unique product offering in the mid-range accommodation market and are well worth visiting.

RomaniaA big minus and disappointment is the breakfast, basic had only few things to eat. We asked for example for some tomato’s and vegetables for the morning, and they refused to give us, said that it’s a Mauritius breakfast only (this is a lie, the traditional it’s something else): it had for example some fruits , 4-5 types, and not fresh , the same baskets all the 4 days; the pancakes where cold, made before, not fresh in the morning, the only good part was the omelette, this was made fresh in the morning; we asked for a cappuccino and the lovely staff made for us, the next day, the other staff, just said that the coffee machine was not working, she didn’t even check. The basic stuff where missing from the room, no towels for the pool, no hair dryer (we got one only after we asked, but they asked if we wanted for only one day or the whole 4 day😕 ), at arrival we where informed that because of the weather in the south (more rainy then in the north) we will have mosquitoes : so for our surprise, in the rom there where no anti mosquitoes tablets , we asked nicely if we can have like 4 (because we where there for 4 nights) and they gave us only one; every night we had to find someone from the staff and ask for tablets, one by one. Also at arrival we went to the reception without our luggage, did the check in, and went quickly to the car to take our luggage and go to the room as agreed. For our surprise, for the 2 minutes we were at the car, other people came and they forgot about us, said we had to wait now (20 minutes). At one point we got a welcoming drink but still had to sit there and wait, basically just for the key. We also asked for towels for the beach, response was that they had few stolen and don’t give any no more. Don’t know how this is our problem, because we gladly could have left out id there or also money deposit, but they didn’t even bother to find a solution and make our stay better.
Really nice location, short drives to nearby tourist attractions and full access to the Heritage 5 stars Resorts (pools, facilities and beach). The dinner was really delicious, have to say that this was the best part of our stay, the evening staff also really friendly and professional. The chateau Bel Ombre is 2 minutes walk and you have free access to visit and it’s definitely worth it. The room was very clean, they changed the towels and sheets every day.

United KingdomBreakfast was a bit basic, not so much choice. We would have appreciated a water jug for boiled water (as no drinking water was provided, but we could boil our own).
Property was beautiful and well kept, we loved all the birds and trees. Access to the Heritage resorts was a huge plus, as we could use all their pools, bars and beach, etc. IMO this makes Kaz’alala a great “budget” resort stay. All the staff members were really friendly and went out of their way to help us. Bel Ombré itself is very peaceful and beautiful, a lovely place to stay - but don’t expect many amenities or shops nearby (unless you have a car).

United KingdomThe bed was so squeaky, getting into it made a racket and at night it was disruptive for sleeping. I also think garden/ maintenance works should start as of 0730 / 0800 as 0700 is too early.
Loved the grounds, the setting suits our style of open living: one with nature. The staff was very accommodating, polite and discreet. We really enjoyed our stay except for the 2 points below
