Rooms are quite basic. Stairs to the water from the water villa not cleaned of algae so super slippery. My kids and I all slipped. I showed the staff my injury but they did nothing to make the stairs less slippery. The shape of the island is long and very inconvenient unless you manage to book the pool villa or a beach villa close to reception. The buses run only every 10-15 mins. For us to make it on time to our excursions from our water villa, we have to budget 25 mins so as not to be late. That is because if we miss the bus, we pretty much have to walk the 25 mins. Sometimes the buses get full so we can’t get on. There is no house reef. The 40 mins snorkeling trip that is available only once a day keeps getting canceled for weather.

1. We went out to the pool on the end of the island. There were no obvious sign stating the pool will be under maintenance soon. (or maybe I didn't see it) I saw some kids still playing in the pool so I decide to go in. The weather was a little chilly at night so I asked the staff for some clean towel when I got our from the pool. However, they told me they don't have any clean towel anymore cause the pool was going to be close ?? REALLY ? I was all wet and felt so cold while heading back to our resort on the opposite side of the island. 2. During our buffet dinner, we followed the staff's recommendation to open a bottle of white wine. The staff came with the wine but spent so long tried to open the bottle. After awhile struggling, he finally opened it and poured the wine into our glasses; however, he spilled out some of the wine on our table! There was no apologize or so but we were still okey since the environment was comfy and chill. The thing that got us is that after the staff finally finished, he was still standing next to our table, seems like waiting on his tips. At the first moment we didn't get his hint and didn't give our the tip cause we were on the middle of our chatting. We then realized because he left us with grumpy face and rarely came back to help us clean our table. We are willing to give out tips for those who help us nicely but with this kind of service and attitude... sorry we don't feel like to tip.

1. The environment was comfortable and the food variety was good. 2. "Most of" the staff were really friendly and energetic. 3. The space in the overwater villa was quit nice. 4. Island is big and has lots activities you can choose to sign up with extra fee.

I came here before and I had an amazing time. However, this visit was awful! Its not that same at all and i’m so disappointed. The lounge at the airport was under maintenance and they asked us to pay almost $50 per person to the VIP lounge that was absolutely disgusting, everyone was complaining about how bad it was. This is completely unprofessional especially when they make you pay for it and for the seaplane which costs $470+ per person! Some of the staff were not helpful and rude. I was so excited to come to LUX again but it was such a disappointment. Never again.

We arrived from the neighboring island Dhigurah with a boat and were planning to stay one night at LUX. We had asked before if we could come over before check-in and planned to stay at the beach. They said we were welcome to come early. We came at 11 and check in was at 14. When we got of the boat, we were told that we were not allowed to enter the actual island and they expected us to sit for 3 hours on the wharf and wait for check in. We said we didn’t need anything, no drinks, no food we just wanted to wait at the beach that was right next to us, but no. Eventually, the let us in, because our guesthouse where we had stayed at Dhigurah called them. LUX then told us that it had been a misunderstanding and that we could check in. What we don’t understand is what they could have misunderstood. We were coming to stay, had negative PCR-tests ready and they had told us we could come early. We felt like they were treating us differently because we were coming by a boat instead of an expensive seaplane and because we were only staying one night. Once we got in, everything was good, but when we were picked up by our boat the next day we had to wait for a while, again. They didn’t tell us anything, but they did some kind of security check on our bags and we felt as if they were checking to see if we were stealing someone else’s luggage. Very unfriendly welcoming and goodbye. Staff on the island once we got in were great, but our stay was ruined quite a bit by the rude welcoming.

Very fancy place with a nice water villa. Lots of options when it comes to restaurants and bars. Amazing breakfast buffet. Communication with a staff member through WhatsApp was a good idea.

The WiFi could be better. The Cable was off and on. The fruits needed more variety.

The ambience was really nice, good facilities and very friendly staff. Special thanks to Inthi. He made our stay all the more relaxing.
