Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Canada- no pool for swimming - loveless and rather random placement of two-person tables - bus trip to airport too early; cut the last day short and the paid for lunch had to be skipped and paid for again at the expensive airport. We had to spend 4h at the airport for no obvious reason.
- proximity to the beach - the buffet was amazing

United States of AmericaThough the staff was literally awesome we did not prefer being hounded as soon as we entered the lobby about doing seminars about Bahia Principe that would award us discounts for entertainment. It was overwhelming.
This was a trip my new wife and I made for our honeymoon. We loved everything about the facility. The staff was awesome. We did an outing with Scuba Aquatic where we rode buggies thru the jungle to see the animals and swam in the caves. It was great!

FranceWe were very disappointed by the food with the exception of the los corales restaurant in the adult section. The beds were very hard we got moved to another room because there was a water issue with our first room so we tried two king size beds.
The best thing about this property was the INCREDIBLE staff. They really made our stay 10x better. We spent most of our time around the adult pool and it was wonderful

PeruThe hotel consists of four hotels and you can go to restaurants and pools of all four. They have little wagons that take you around. We were there in July and it was difficult to walk around in the heat. The food in restaurants is diverse, there is a good selection. One major issue is that there is barely any ac in the restaurants and public spaces. This makes going to eat or to the nightly shows difficult. The ocean in front of the hotel is beautiful, but rocky. There were always spaces in front of the ocean. Towels were almost always available. The kids club was wonderful and was the only space that had ac. The rooms were comfortable. A bit old but well maintained. We had some maintenance requests and they were resolved rapidly. Be ready to deal with some mosquitoes at night.

United States of AmericaThe only drawback is the lack of transportation within the facility , there were several instances where we just had to walk long distance to get around, trams were limited.
The property was beautiful and very secure , the staff are very welcoming.

United States of AmericaI wish there were more shops or options for shopping. Our area was remodeling so the buffet was moved to a place farther away which was a bit annoying. We ended up eating a lot at the snack bar, which didn’t have as many options for our 1 year old.
There are a lot of amenities and it felt comfortable

United States of AmericaThe food was hit or miss. Some meals were great, other left us wanting something else. We ordered a King room, our first room was “upgraded” but, it was two double beds. For a man and wife, that leaves something to be desired. We got moved the next day to a much better king room and stayed there the rest of our week.
Beautiful hotel and property. The walk to the beach was not more than a few hundred feet from our room. Staff is helpful and strives to care for the guests. Plenty of beach space, with sun coverage.

CanadaWhen someone goes to the buffet dining area, once they are seated it would be great to be offered cold water. We often asked and would have to get it ourselves because it wasn’t brought to our table. I do realize the staff are busy however, one staff member got mad at me because after waiting for 25minutes, I went and poured a glass of water for myself.
The location and cleanliness of the facility. The nightly entertainment was terrific. The staff were very accommodating. There was a good selection of eating establishments.

United States of AmericaMore outlets in the bathroom and bedroom. Need towel card at other resorts—shouldnt have to need it. Need hostesses in the theater to take drink orders. Everyone lines up at the bar and takes a long time Website advertises you can use water equipment like surfboards or kayak but there was no such thing. App is not great, cumbersome to navigate, room service ordering wasnt comprehensive, didn’t even have juice on the menu so you have to call for room service, which isnt a big deal unless you’re out of the room and trying to think ahead by scheduling a room service delivery
Food was delicious, great variety, fresh. Mini croissants were the best i ever had. Loved the fresh juice bar. Restaurant variety was perfect and all different, with all delicious offerings. We had dinner at the french, seafood, brazilian steak, and italian restaurants. The seafood one was the best (frutos del mar). Christmas dinner was excellent, phenomenal. I wish I could have fit more food in my stomach. I loved having pozole with poached eggs for breakfast. Staff were attentive. Viridiana, the manager, was kind and professional, friendly and pleasant. Entertainment was good. The ladies in the cafe seemed like they didn’t enjoy their jobs. Stayed 7 nights and only did one day trip to Chichen Itza/cenote. Didn’t feel bored at all just staying at the resort. Plenty to do/see/eat/lounge. Didn’t feel pressured to do their timeshare thing though I saw others get sucked in. Didn’t feel crowded at the pools or beach. Easy to find lounge chairs for 4+ people. Loved that the pools had a wide shallow shelf that was about ankle deep so our toddler could walk/splash around safely. We were so pleased to have stayed at Luxury Akumal, it was the best resort out of Coba and Tulum. Coba seemed packed, disorganized, messy, loud. Their reception area was full of people smoking and sitting/drinking. Tulum was very large, didn’t seem intimate enough, you’re lost in the sea of guests. Both buffets at Coba and Tulum weren’t nearly as good as Luxury Akumal. Luxury akumal was the perfect size and familiarity right at the beach.
