Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The staff, they kept mansplaining me, even after I asked to stop 'explaining' things. There was no table in thé kitchen, so no real place to eat. The terrace was closed for renovations, though this was not mentioned beforehand.

The bed was very tiny. Everything is packed. My body was touching the roof. Very limited space. Wifi didn't go well. They were added to booking.com. Breakfast was available, but there wasn't any breakfast. There wasn't anybody to ask anything and you have to pay 7€ more for the taxes. They should keep a comfortable pillow. If we have breakfast or not they should tell us when we check in. Rooms are very packed.
We have a small locker to keep our things. But not our bags only our small things.

Too many people in the rooms, the beds are crammed together. The cleanliness leaves something to be desired in both the bathrooms and the kitchen.
It is a good location, very quiet. The train station is not too far and we can get to the city center of Amsterdam easily.

It was small room with too many beds. There were some loud guy, but that's rather fault of shared spaces concept. No towel for drying after taking shower. Shower was quite small and not really clean, but it was doable. I have some bug bites/pimples on my body that itch from that place!
The price was decent. For one night stay it was doable. But I wouldn't recommend longer stay than this.

Rooms and bathroom are small and also the kitchen doesn’t have a proper table; there’s a terrace with chairs and a couch but with the cold and windy weather it’s hard to have a meal there
This hostel is nice and the staff really friendly and warm. The rooms are equipped with lockers and the beds are comfy

booked a bed in an 8 pers mix dorm but was actually 8 bunk beds so 16 people with beds very close together , also just 1 toilet/bathroom

Bed on the top is very uncomfortable, the space from bed till ceiling is so tiny. I don't know why exactly, but the guy from reception came twice in the room during the night, because of the same matter, wakening up everybody in the room and leaving the lights on.

The bathroom could've been cleaner. The shower cabin didn't have any shower gel or a shampoo.

Room was hot, toallet smells, and staff is just ok.
Locaction is good, closer to train station and other facilities nearby. For cost is a good option but not really my type of accomodation so I can't recomend.

The toilet and the kitchen weren't clean, not toilet paper, in the morning and the building is not cozy (because is small). There were also people living there (for me it's okay but they were a little bit noisy)
