Safe did not work and no resolution during our four night stay despite reporting it twice. Disappointed with restaurant management - sat outside main restaurant area despite booking a table so left feeling disappointed for special meal, and staff training issues eg no side plates for bread starter leaving crumbs all over table which weren’t cleared before next course, unused glasses and cutlery and empty bottles not cleared away.

Good location for flower parade and good facilities.

The hotel was more expensive than other locations and wasn't pet friendly (in thr hotel rooms). Additionally, the shower/toilet had glass doors. The shower had a blackout door, but the toilet had a clear glass door, so you could see the person going to the bathroom.

Great location, easy to access and get to other locations. Eventhough it was on the highway, you didn't hear the traffic. Thr hotel was very modern, well maintained, and had an amazing breakfast.

The hotel is located right next to the highway and although no rooms face the highway directly, you can hear it. There are no restaurants or shopping directly next to the hotel, it looks more like an industrial area.

The hotel fully meets its 4 stars. The design of the interior is particularly pleasing.

there were 3 times fireworks outside at 11-12pm, i think from a casino next door. Also there were some doors closing so hard during the night that i woke up lot.

I requested an iron and ironing board for the room. I'd arrived late and had an early start so was in a hurry to get prepared for the next day and to bed. I was told that you can't have an iron for the room and you need to go to the ironing room. This was on the other wing of the hotel on the first floor so literally had to get dressed again and take my clothes with me down to the ground floor, across the lobby, up the other side of the hotel. This was really annoying, a major inconvenience and I have literally never heard of this before!

Hotel was decent. Arrived just in time to get dinner before the kitchen closed and burger was good. Didn't get chance to use the gym or facilities but games room was great. Location just off the motorway was super handy too.

The exhaust fan in the bathroom suddenly turn loud in the middle of night. The water pressure of the shower could have been higher, and the breakfast spread could've been more varied considering the price.

Need to be renewed immediately. Carpets in the corridors are full of dirt stains and the head of the beds full of scarthes. The toilets are open and very small.

The location is great, and the team of receptionists was nice.

The lighting in the bedroom was not bright enough. It could really do with a central light? Great in the bathroom though.

a bit distant from everywhere especially if you head to Amsterdam a lot, better to plan your transportation well.

Nice big room and nice balcony, breakfast was also good with a comfy bed, but it was difficult to find Uber (almost impossible), better to use a bicycle (rental is available) to the train station, and also better to buy groceries before coming back to the hotel since nothing around, though nice and quiet neighborhood.

The TV remote could only turn on the TV and nothing else. This spoiled the impressions and plans a little. It seems like a small thing, but significant.

Comfortable and large room with a sauna. I liked the sauna, the large, clear room. Everything is very good, except for one small nuance

It is not conveniently located for travelers arriving by train. It is an awkward 18-minute walk from train station to hotel or vice versa. It does not have an airport shuttle, which is probably due to the hotel being located not too close to Schiphol Airport. A taxi from Schiphol Airport will set you back approx. 70 Euros.

Van der Valk Sassenheim - Leiden is a very convenient hotel when traveling by car. It is located very close to the highway (A44). The room was very nice and large enough. The staff members I dealt with were very friendly.

It can be noisy here, depending which room you get. The rooms can also be quite dark.

Breakfast was poor for the the cost. Scrambled eggs were more like a cut up omelette and hot food was placed with heavy attached lids sitting under low heated lights so you had hold plate and lift lids under restricted space and then try with one hand to place food on plate whilst holding up lids...crazy! I last stayed at this hotel a number of years ago and they then had a breakfast manager constantly checking to make sure food was refilled and everything was in order. This is now sadly lacking and needs to be addressed.

Very friendly staff and had dinner in restaurant which was excellent. We also asked to change rooms as we didn't like the open in room bathroom situation and we were moved without fuss to a normal bedroom with a private bathroom.

Very modern room with balcony overlooking canal. Large comfortable bed. Very clean. Coffee maker and kettle. Loved the rainfall shower. Large car park with free parking.
