Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NorwayWhen we booked the room there was no info at all about the reception being closed! When we came -about 19:00- there was no one at the reception, the hotel doors were closed. We called the hotel and then someone gave us the instructions how to get the room keys. The day after it was said at the reception that, after booking, they had send us an sms (with the instructions) which we never received.
Quite nice room. A spacious room as well as the bathroom. Immaculate clean. Very good view to the city and harbour. A normal breakfast. A quiet hotel.

NorwayIt is a charming place, it used to be an both an office and a pharmacy. No air condition in the room, and only possible to open the windows partly. The door on the balcony needs a bracket to be kept in open position. Room very nice, including bathroom. Improvement needed for breakfast, very dark, difficult to see and few options. Should focus on local food, at least bread.

NorwayWhilst there was a good selection of options for breakfast the cooked food wasn't very warm. There was also no lift to the room we stayed in (not a particular problem for us)
We stayed in the main part of the hotel, which used to be a shipping office. The room was big with lots of windows and natural light (but just looked over buildings). Furnishings were in an older style, more in keeping with the 'shipping office' feel. There are many maps, photos and models of ships around the hotel.

SwedenNice location in center of town. Parking just in front of the hotel. Our family room was really large. First a room with desk, two chairs and storage. Then another large room with the three beds. You could feel the shipping historia of the hotel. Very good breakfast and the hot dishes were hot, not many hotels manage that. We had a good dinner at the hotel.

SwedenNo elevator, so going up two levels could be an issue with heavier bags. Otherwise everything was fine :)
Really beautiful hotel with a historic maritime feel and decor. Large, modern room with nice bathroom. Free parking overnight outside the entrance, and 1min walk down to the water. Breakfast was good, and we also at dinner there which was fantastic. We also had a partial sea view which was nice.

NorwayI had anticipated something completely different from the photos. The exterior ones feature a building that was purchased later and is a small part of the hotel.
Pretty good restaurant. Central Farsund location. Good that they kept all the original shipping office parafernalia and style. Very clean place and pleasant staff.

NorwayFunctional, but surprisingly charmless hotel. Disappointing breakfast with only white bread. Only one staff person on duty who had to take care of check-in, bar tending and waiting on tables in the restaurant. Very limited parking.
Good location. Large family room with space for 4 adults.

BelgiumWe had the family room but the sheets and pillows for the kids bed were not provided when we arrived. We reported it to the staff who said they were going to arrange it before the evening. They did not. We asked again later in the evening when the single guy who was present in the bar was able to give us sheets at 22h. A single person taking care of the restaurant, bar and reception clearly meant very slow service in the restaurant as well. He was very kind and always busy but there is only so much you can do alone. Clearly a management failure. The breakfast had cold eggs and bacon and generally was not clean (sticky floors, dirty fridge,…). Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.
Nice lounge and terrace. One helpful guy doing the bar and restaurant. The dinner was fine as well.

NorwayThe staff were rude(two young girls with no experience), not helpful or service minded and the receptionist did not know even where our room was located... asked for toilette paper and cleaning service they did not know if or when should be performed. The room was not cleaned, towels and toilette paper replaced , during our stay. There was no one willing to help in the reception or elsewhere to get us toilette paper to the room and coffee capsules. Buffet breakfast was poor with little choice, The food was not replaced so we actually did not find anything to eat when we arrived the breakfast room.
The location of the hotel is very central noisy at times. Nice view to the harbour.

NorwayUnprofessional and untrained waiters. Dinner dishes direct from the freezer. No scrambled or fried eggs for breakfast, although they presented a lot of bacon - strange… Very few parking spots at the hotel. When we arrived, all these spots were taken, therefore no place to unload the car (legally).
The maritime atmosphere.

MalaysiaVery nice hotel! Great breakfast, clean, comfortable and everything in place :) I really liked the topic (vessels) of the interior decorations! Haven't met anyone from the reception, but I hope to be able to learn something about the area from someone in the hotel during my next visit! Thank you and all the best! :)
