Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaUnfortunately there was major rail track by noisy heavy machinery until midnight. Unlucky. Dinner cost was 225 Norwegian kron.
Iconic location along Flam train track. Beautiful natural surroundings including remnant snow patches on the mountains and waterfalls from snow melt.

SwedenVery minor things: 1) Curtains are not light proof. 2) You need to walk a little bit (beautiful short hike) if you are reaching myrdal at odd hours. This is a problem for ppl with heavy luggage.
Given the location on top of mountain this hotel has all the basic things u need for a pleasant stay. Even if something needful is not there in room, just ask for it and hotel will arrange it. Must stay here for a night or two and enjoy every around.

AustraliaThe location is so special, unique and very quiet. We stayed here by chance because we couldn’t get accommodation in Flam, and we were SO glad. The hike around the lakes was so beautiful, and you can also bike around very easily. The restaurant served a wonderful dinner and breakfast (both buffet). All the staff were also SO wonderful, helpful and friendly.

ChinaBad location. No one helps u at night even they said they will be there for check-in. You called many times but no one picks up the phone. Trap reservation options of non-refundable rooms. Very bad traffic conditions. There is no service level in my mind. The low light of our Norway travel.

United KingdomThere was nothing I didn't like about this hotel.
I was getting down in Myrdral around 9:30PM, Flam railway, which is the only way to get to the hotels had no service at this time. The manager of the train that I was travelling contacted the hotel, and the hotel sent me one of the staff members with a luggage carrier to pick me. All my friends in England said that it is something exceptional way of treating a customer. Staff was so very friendly and also helpful. The view from the hotel is amazing, and unbelievable. Breakfast is so delicious with home made bread and porridge, and also locally produced jams.

AustraliaBathroom was very small. Noisy during the night as they are doing some sort of local construction of a bridge over the railway line… they worked all night.
Interesting place to stay. Has an historic feel to it. Nice easy walking around it.

Belgiumall was perfect!
A cosy accommodation on a unique isolated location! A very cosy place with stylish interior from the past. The room was simple, but as expected. We had delicious breakfast and a very fine dinner buffet on Independence Day May 17th. Very friendly staff. The location is only accessible by train, but that makes it even more unique. We walked 1,5 km down from Myrdal train station and that was very do-able. The Flåmbanen train stop is also right in front of the hotel. The nature is beautiful out there. The lake was still frozen and covered by snow in mid May. -3 in the morning. The Rallarvegen bike/hike path and zip line are at 100m.

GermanyThis is not related to the hotel itself, but apart from going down to Flåm, there are not that many opportunities to hike here. The mountains limit the space where you can move around. That being said, you can still easily walk to the Myrdal station and take the train to Finse and the hotel makes you feel like being part of nature, with great views from the hotel rooms.
An exceptional hotel in the midst of a beautiful scenery. The hotel itself is very well furnished, the lobby especially makes you feel like being part of an old novel.
