Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RussiaAll good.
It’s a beautiful farm in the middle between Sarangkot and Lakeside. You can reach by walking the trails. There’s so many to explore. The facilities are there, everything clean and convenient. The view is stunning. Lots of places for doing yoga, there’re small creeks and a tiny local waterfall. The couple who runs the place are hospitable people genuinely helpful with all the tips. Highly recommended 🙏 Namaste

SwitzerlandHom and his family are incredibly warm & hospitable and made me feel like part of their family during my stay. The views from the homestay and around are incredible and it's the perfect spot for people who would like to experience farm life away from the hustle and bustle of Pokhara. It takes around 30-40min by foot to the city, but there are also taxis that go close-by and where I was picked up by the host family when I first arrived. Hope to be back soon :)

GermanyBeautiful homestay with the most stunning view of the lake from the garden! The hosts are super sweet, warm and friendly and provide you with all the meals and tea. It’s a very peaceful location and you can walk to the Sarangkot viewpoint in under an hour. Pokhara lakeside is a 40 minute hike down the hill or a few minutes by taxi. It‘s a farm so don’t expect any luxuries :)

AustraliaI had the most wonderful week with Hom, Bishnu and Suchant. The property is so beautiful, with a nice view of the lakeside and surrounding mountains. A peaceful place to escape from the tourist trap that is Pokhara and a wonderful place to meditate if you’re into that. Thanks for making me feel like part of the family :) Ill be back again one day!

GermanyI had a very good time at this place. If you are interested to meet a lovely family on a farm near to Lakeside - away from the trouble - then you will find peace here. It's an authentic experience of Nepali life on the countryside. Be aware about the simplicity up there Hom and his wife are very kind and carrying. There is always some work to do on the fields or the garden...

RomaniaDon't expect luxury and a big house! Although the house is small, their heart is huge! You get to experience the authentic Nepalese way of living in a very peaceful place in the middle of nature, away from the city. And if you miss the city, you have an incredible view with it and with the lake at nust 3 minutes away from the house ❤️ I have met Tom and his amazing wife that gave me the warmest welcome ❤️ I sit with them by the fire while cooking the food , tasted it before it was ready , telling stories. They are eager to explain to you how they make everything and stories of the place! Everything is from their own garden, including coffee ❤️ Other members of the family are 2 kids ( 2 boys ) , 2 buffalos and a baby buffalo, 2 goats and 3 baby goats , one dog and a lovely cat ❤️ The only regret I have is not being able to stay longer. The place is an amazing spot for relaxing, yoga and meditation. You can do various walks from here. Also Hom is a guide and he did multiple Annapurna Base camp treks. You should definitely add Pokhara to your list when visiting Nepal and take this wonderful experience at Hom's Homestay if you are ready to experience the pure Nepalese life. I was on this wonderful journey on Everest Base Camp, Kala Pattar and 3 passes trek and I arrived in Pokhara by chance. Thank you wonderful people for giving me such precious memories! I value the short time spend together and I will always remember you! And definitely be back one day to do the Annapurna and stay at your house for a longer period ❤️🤗

This is a must stay when you are in Pokhara!! The sweetest family I’ve ever met. Hom and his wife are the best couple if you want to experience a real authentic homestay in Nepal. They learned us how to make Chapati and other Nepali dishes. They love to talk about everything and have some amazing stories to share about their home. I wish we could stayed longer!!!

United KingdomAs someone mentioned earlier, the positive sides for someone could be the negative sides for others. This is not like a hotel stay or fancy cottage living. Make sure the expectations you have are realistic and bring the essentials you need with you, as the nearest grocery place is 40 mins walk uphill or downhill at lakeside. Wear comfortable shoes for the 15 mins steep walk to the farm from the main road. If you come during monsoon season, be prepared for the mosquito situation as it could be very bad.
Thanks for hosting me! I enjoyed the peace and harmony here for the 3 days I stayed. The nature and the view among the lake is the best part! Also Hom and his family are all very kind and friendly to me. It’s 50 mins hike to Sarangkot view point. You would not regret getting up early and hike up for the sunrise view over the snow peaks there, it’s more than magnificent. I would recommend this homestay to someone who wants to experience the local farming life or is willing to help support & build projects with Hom for his farm.

United StatesSee above. Positive things for some people are negative things for others. Don't come unless you want to hike up a steep rocky slope (with steps), help on a subsistence farm, and experience the beauty of nature with a friendly loving family.
Sharing the subsistence farmer's lifestyle. Buffalo, goats, chicken, dog, cats. Many garden & tree crops. 3 room Bldg: Hom, his wife&son sleep in 1 room, you sleep in the 2d, with kitchen 3d. There is electricity & internet! Outbldg for primitive toilet &shower. Wood stove cooking shed. I LOVED it but it's not for the faint hearted. The hike up is VERY strenuous. If you want to experience real Nepali subsistence farming, this is the place!

United KingdomThe homestay is a 15 minute walk off the road down some steep steps and through some fields. Something to note around what kind of bag to bring, I wouldn't recommend bringing a large wheelie bag. It is a bit difficult going back up when you're leaving.
We had a great experience at Homs Homestay. His family are so welcoming and hospitable. We had great chats about traditional life on the farm and at times we joined in on the farm work and the cooking. Hom provided all the meals for us and they were excellent. You have the choice of doing your own thing and going for walks or to really embrace the farm life, its very relaxed. The views are also amazing from his farm. One thing to remember regarding the facilities is this is a traditional Nepalese farming homestay so it will be quite different to the hotel/hostel you have come from. I would highly recommend staying at Homs if you want to immerse yourself in traditional Nepalese farming life.
