Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwedenNothing, everything was great
We spent a week at Kantipur Temple House and it was truly unforgettable. The building itself is stunning, a beautiful example of traditional architecture that feels both timeless and welcoming. The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind, always going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was a daily highlight: well-stocked, fresh, and with little surprises that kept things interesting every morning. It was also wonderfully quiet, a peaceful retreat from the bustle of the city. One of our favorite parts was the complimentary rooftop yoga, the perfect way to start the day. KTH is a rare blend of charm, hospitality, and thoughtful touches. Highly recommended!

IndiaGorgeous property and amazing staff. It feels like a movie set when you walk in the main courtyard and the corridors. The rooms are generous in size, we took the deluxe rooms they came with an extra bed. It has a very earthy feel to it, everything is wood, wicker or brass. Definitely worth a visit. Located right in the middle of the city centre so everything is walkable, but not on the main road so no traffic noise.

United Arab EmiratesReally considering the other options, nothing.
Spacious, clean, friendly, authentic and budget friendly, without hesitation, the best option, no need to look for any other place! The family room 306 was extremely big and looking over an authentic courtyard. A clear 10/10!

United StatesThe facility is getting older and some of the maintenance on the exterior has been neglected, mainly at the roof level. The facility has excellent "bones" and is ripe for an investor to renovate and elevate the hotel to a top quality destination IMHO.
We were in the heart of Kathmandu in a property that obviously is authentic and has been a quality hotel for some time. It is showing its age and is not a 5 star facility. But, it is comfortable, the food there is very good, the staff is excellent and the facility is well managed. I recommend it for people who are willing to enjoy the history and location and are not expecting pretentiousness in their hotel. It is also a spot in the city with a nice private courtyard away from the motor scooters and crowds; a very nice, quiet place to kick back and enjoy your favorite beverage and some snacks in comfort with great service.

MalaysiaI was surprised that the hotel didn't have a lift nor air-conditioning in the room. Our room was on the 4th floor and have to climb the stairs at least twice a day. Would be good to have known this fact earlier. Fortunately the weather was a bit cool (about 22 C) otherwise it could be too warm. The basic amenities could be improved, like providing proper body wash and shampoo. The street in front of the hotel needs to be improved as it was muddy with uneven surface.
Love the aesthetics of the whole place. The architecture looks like something out of an Indiana Jones movie. The service staff are all very friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and comfortable. Location is good - Away from the hustle and bustle of the Kathmandu city centre, yet within a 10 to 15 minutes walk to the attractions in the area.

United StatesI was surprised to learn that there wasn’t an elevator or air conditioning. I must have missed that in the description. It was hot when I checked in (about 90F), but the ability to open the windows and have the fan going made for a comfortable and surprisingly cool room.
The architecture, especially the old wood carvings, transports you to another time. It was a great vibe and extremely convenient to Thamel.

MalaysiaThe beds can be more comfortable. I can feel the springs in the mattress. Some of the standing fans need to be upgraded as they are too noisy. The breakfast buffet can be improved. Homemade granola and oatmeal can be added. More local breads.
The beautiful authentic architecture. The spacious rooms with seating area and wood floors. The attentive and friendly staff. The quiet serene location and garden.

United KingdomA beautiful building. Really beautiful. It has a style and a soul. If you like traditional Nepalese buildings, and everybody does, you will love this one. Outstanding staff. High personal culture, great attire, naturally smiling, always very helpful. Excellent food that warrants a separate paragraph. Fresh and tasty. Served in a relaxing, quiet restaurant. It was so good that we never went for any street food even though street food was one of the things "we had to do". Perfect location. A short walk to Durbar Square with the Asan Bazar halfway through. You have all the Kathmandu noise and beauty just around the corner, and it's so quiet inside (our room window faced the inner courtyard). Some people may not like the smell of old wooden wardrobes in the rooms. I've found it charming.

IndiaNothing! We had a wonderful stay and will certainly choose to come back here when we are in Kathmandu again.
It is a gorgeous large hotel with a generous garden. The architecture is vintage Nepali traditional style even though it is a modern construction. The room was large and cozy. They gave us a heater because it was almost 10 deg C at nights. The staff is friendly and helpful and very cooperative. The in house dining is incredibly tasty and charmingly served. Don't miss eating the thali there. You will come back for it again and again! We were also offered a free 1.5 hour heritage walk facility and free morning yoga on the terrace during our stay! The hotel is a short walk from the main Thamel market road as well as the Garden of Dreams.
