Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I cannot comment about other rooms but in unit1 where we stayed - the only thing I had an issue with was the bed - it was too soft and my back did not say thank you for that but thats the only complaint :) my girl said it didnt bother her
Great location with free parking, most hotels do not have their own parking or still charge for parking, this was our first trip to Wellington by car so that was a big bonus! Friendly staff, and wanna say - their cleaning Ladies do the greatest job! Our room was spotless clean! I really enjoyed to have a good quality stainless steel jag, with so many hotels using cheapest plastic ones, here in Apollo we felt like guests wellbeing is a thing for the owners! I liked our fast cooking induction bench top cooker too! My daughter did not want to leave and said next time we go to Wellington let`s stay at Apollo again! :) And we most likely will! Thank you!

The room I was in (41, the old building) had multiple broken windows that were just duct taped, and seemed that way for a while as the tape was peeling. Would be nice to have those replaced. I checked in at 2.30pm, walked up the stairs with my bags and saw they were still cleaning my room. I asked if I could pop my bags inside the door but they said ‘just there’ and gestured to the outside foyer. I took my bags and waited in my car till they were finished (another half hour.) Would have been good to have been told that my room wasn’t ready, even though I gave them my eta and it was after when check in opens.
It was in a great location and it was very spacious for the price! Great, tidy spot. I was upstairs in the old building and it was nice. Bathroom was newly renovated and modern.

If you’re a light sleeper the noise of people coming back late was quite loud but it wasn’t for long.
Staff were friendly and help our bags the next day.

Only downside couldn’t get the tv to work as wifi not good in our room - not a big deal at all but would be the icing on the cake to be able to watch a movie after a big day exploring
Very simple but clean. Warm and cosy it had everything we needed. Great location to be able to walk everywhere and the free parking was so good. An excellent place to stay for a few days

Nothing not to like about this place
Spotlessly clean unit with friendly welcoming staff. Great location , you can easily walk into Wellington CBD or visit Te Papa or the Basin Reserve. Plenty of off street parking and only 15 mins drive to the airport or 10mins to either of the ferry terminals.

Wifi was useless as it never really worked. I needed to do some work done so it was frustrating as I don’t have unlimited mobile data.
Room and bathroom were confortable and spotless. Heater did a good job warming the room. Staff at the reception were very nice and helpful.

Lacking some basic maintenance, eg unfinished repairs in the kitchen area, and old blind brackets left on the bathroom window, could be easily remedied and fairly minor issue. We were disappointed with the TV as it was not a smart TV and we could not cast our shows. I could only get three channels to work with a poor picture and delayed sound.
