During the 40 days we've been in New Zealand we've stayed in over 20 places, almost all have been great but our three nights at Hahei B&B have been exceptional. From the moment you arrive to the moment you depart Sue and Phil go to extraordinary lengths to make your stay as comfortable and stress free as possible. The room was tastefully furnished and well equipped, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless with high end appliances and the breakfasts were wonderful. Their advice about where to eat, where to visit and when was invaluable and they were as interested in what you'd done each day as they were in giving you advice. It helps that it's walkable to the beach and the village pub and restaurant. Their provision of beach/pool towels was welcome (as were the spades for digging your pool at Hot Water Beach!) and the pool was a tranquil retreat at the end of a busy day. In summary, Hahei B&B is run by two people who obviously enjoy running a B&B and want their guests to have the best possible experience of their corner of North Island and I can’t recommend it too highly. PS sorry there aren’t any photos - we were having such a great time that taking photos was the last thing on our minds!

Nothing. It was perfect.

The accommodation was superb. Very comfortable. Excellent location. Sue and Phil were brilliant hosts and they couldn't do enough for you. The pool was a bonus . Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was amazing. So well prepared. Little extras like biscuits, chocolate and water were appreciated.

Wonderful and informative welcome from Phil and Sue to their beautiful place. Well situated with an easy 10 minute walk down to the town and stunning beach. Comfortable and well presented bedroom with excellent shower. Pool was also great in the sunshine! Church Bistro across the road was the best evening meal we’ve had so far and Phil and Sue’s breakfast was the best we’d had and fuelled us nice and ready for the next leg of the trip!

Excellent B&B. Spacious room with outside sitting area. Great shower. Super breakfast - freshly cooked with good choices. Phil and Sue are welcoming and helpful hosts - lots of good local knowledge and useful suggestions. This property and Hahei are recommended. Nice beach, kayak trips are super and the beer and pizza at the Pour House recommended. Mercury Vineyard great on a nice sunny day.

Phil made us a delicious breakfast. We had a lovely fruit tray, yogurt, scrambled eggs and sausage. There was also toast and espresso. Sue and Phil sat down and visited with us during breakfast.

Phil and Sue make it feel like a home away from home. Great breakfast, lift to start of Cathedral Cove walk, good local recommendations. Room was big and the bed super comfy.

Phil and Sue were fantastic hosts and made our trip to Hahei even more memorable. The room was immaculate and the breakfast was better than most cafes. Phil and Sue happily offered to drop us to the top of cathedral cover walk which was extremely helpful. Thank you for having us. We will definitely recommend to friends and family.

I usually do not take the time to write a review, but this time I did: The room was beautiful, perfectly clean. The view of the terrasse was gorgeous. And the breakfast was amazing! Phil and Sue were incredibly friendly, helpful and interesting persons and we had great time to talk to them. This was one of the best (if not the best) accomodation that we had in New Zealand. It would be a pleasure to be able to come back at Phil and Sue B&B. Many thanks to you Phil and Sue! :)

The fact we only stayed there for one night.

Beautifully appointed rooms, super super clean, manicure gardens. Most importantly Phil and Sue made us the most delicious breakfast. We had a great time staying there and would love to stay for longer.
