Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe smell from the bathroom - no exhaust fan, and nothing to cover bathroom smells. The suite could be smelled from the time we opened the door. The restaurant was okay, but expensive for what we got.
The view of the lake was wonderful The suite was very spacious.

New ZealandThe hotel is bit old and needs work in the bathrooms. They charged for incidental as a bond but don’t refund when you check out. The staff says it will be 1-2 days. Car park is extra 😌

AustraliaIt's at the top of a hill so walking might be difficult for those less able, and Queenstown is a busy place so driving down the hill and finding a park might be tricky. However this wasn't an issue for us as we happily took the stroll to the centre, enjoying the views on the way.
Wow! We were given a view of the lake which was just incredible first thing in the morning. Sometimes you get what you pay for, we knew going in that it was a little more expensive on our road trip for two nights but it was well worth it. We had two suites adjoining - one for our children and one for us. There is a pool and gym on site and the rooms are simply luxurious.

New ZealandI feel like Heritage felt really old and cold. It didn't feel too welcoming on the inside. It could use a bit of an update to modernize it. Also, a shuttle service to and from the airport would be absolutely amazing!
The bed (comfy and big), buffet breakfast, view, balcony, heatpump.

United KingdomSometimes doors slammed , when bit closed carefully, into the main entrance to accommodation and our room was close by. Would have been nice to be able to use Apple Pay
Lovely bedroom and really nice to have a pool Although about 15 mins walk away from centre of Queenstown, we enjoyed the walk along the lakeside. And nice not to by noisy evening town. Had some lovely food there as well as in town. And staff all very nice.

New ZealandMy partner is in a wheelchair, so we were booked in the dedicated accessible room. Unfortunately, while we were able to make things work, many features of the room were not wheelchair friendly. Most of the plugs were on the ground and in difficult to reach places. The mirror in the bathroom was very high, and the shelving in the bathroom where the hand towels and shampoo were were very difficult for my partner to reach without my help. The fold down shower chair was also quite small, narrow, and right in the corner of the shower, which made it awkward to sit in. The option of commode hire would have made our stay much more convenient too had the option been available. It is things like these that are often overlooked in places that offer “ accessible rooms.” While we enjoyed our stay in Queenstown, we both left thinking that a lot more thought should have gone into the room to make it more wheelchair/disability friendly. We respectfully ask that this feedback is taken into consideration. This is not a criticism on The Heritage Hotel itself, only our honest feedback on what changes could be made to make ours and future disabled guest’s stay more comfortable and convenient.
The hotel was in a lovely location, not far from town with beautiful views. Staff were fantastic and very helpful with our requests and questions. We were always met with a warm welcome when returning to the hotel and walking through reception. Small efforts like this make all the difference when you are staying in a hotel! We were given a reserved car park as there were no marked mobility parking spots. This was very helpful, thank you.

New ZealandNot much, food choice in the restaurant was standard fair but nothing to really complain about. Having sky tv was abit old school, might be better to get rid of Sky and get Chrome casts or newer TVs. Also didn't like the fact we couldn't stay longer due to my work commitments !!!
Great place ! The rooms were clean and new carpets and a nice walk down to lake wakatipu. Small issue with the shower was fixed almost instantly. Handy as they have a Tesla destination charger. Staff were super friendly and helpful,

New ZealandA bit pricey but thats expected from Queenstown on a public holiday weekend. A little further from CBD (we had a car so not an issue for us).
Front desk service was lovely. Room tidy and warm, bed comfortable, free drink at the bar was a nice bonus. Family room config was great for us (couple with 2 school aged kids).

New ZealandOur room was very dusty which kept my kids coughing/sneezing a lot while in the rooms & the room service wasn’t that great (staff was abrupt and a bit rude over the phone) food was pretty pricey for low quality (fruit salad wasn’t fresh as stated on the menu)

AustraliaLifting heavy luggage up the stairs that lead to reception was a trifle tiring - perhaps there could consider installing a ramp?
Good location away from the hassle of the centre of town. The beds were really comfortable and we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The restaurant and bar were reasonable offering good value. Although slightly out from the centre it’s just a 15=20 minute walk along the lake or a bus ride from the stop right outside the hotel.
