Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRooms were noisy. The kitchen was too small for the number of people who were in the hostel. Common area also not big enough.
Enjoyed my 4 bed female only room with en-suite and balcony. Good location.

AustraliaThe only minor irritation was that the fan in the ensuite was noisy and ran 24/7, which was annoying at night.
Brilliant central location in Queenstown, and the best value for in town money for a private double room. As a 50 something guest, travelling with my 20 something daughter, I don't represent the typical demographic of a hostel guest, but I found it very comfortable and really convenient. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived.

New ZealandIt’s too noisy from bars and clubs outside at night, understand that it’s out of hostel’s control but it’s a pain if you really need a good sleep.
Room and bed is cozy. Puclic area is spacious. Bathroom and toilet is clean and nice.

GermanyMy dorm was close to the party street which made it pretty noisy during night (was a Friday) and it was sad that the little lights close to bed didn't work.
Nice lounge and kitchen area, and the sauna is a highlight too!

No soap in bathroom. Staff were super helpful but clearly didn’t know how to find soap. But they returned after 3 visits with soap.

New ZealandNot overly clean, they could do a bit better. Average kitchen facilities due to there not being nearly enough space to cook or enough fridge space for the amount of people staying there. Also, there were next to no tea towels??? It was noisy because everyone congregates in the kitchen space and people were getting back from the bar crawls at 12am and I was woken up. Neither of my boyfriend or I’s lamps near our beds worked. Not great value for money at all and wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for a quiet hostel.
Great location as it was in the centre of town. Nice reception area

United States of AmericaElectronic access to rooms is still in its infancy, and these were a pain in the...Supposedly, you can ask the desk to turn up the heat or turn it down, but the desk needs to read its messages, and of course in New Zealand, staffing is a problem. In the meantime, though, you've got a temperature you don't like very much and little you can do about it.
The somewhat spartan, windowless room was what I'd been led to expect, and it was very comfortable, with the exceptions mentioned below. The location is fantastic. The youth vibe, both in the clientele and the staff, was refreshing.

IrelandThe kitchen could have been a lot cleaner and basic goods such as salt and pepper could have been supplied. No oven which was also disappointing. Also due to the fact the hostel is so large there are a lot of people who are already in groups and therefore it is harder to talk to people and to make friends. I felt the atmosphere could have been more welcoming.
The Sauna was lovely and there was a load of information booklets on hand which showed the availability of activities in the area.

FranceIt's hard to charge your phone because not enough plugs on the room and it isn't close to your bed. You can't leave you phone on the room because they use a app to open the door. So it's make no sence for me because if you haven't battery on your phone, you're just locked outside.
The localization is really good, the staff friendly. The bathroom are clean and the bed comfortable.

United KingdomKitchen was so busy all the time, people didn’t do their dishes straight away meaning there was no pots/pans for new people cooking to use. Tea towels always soaking wet - need a pile of fresh ones around!
