Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandThere isn't anything about our stay we didn't like. It is an absolute pleasure to live a relaxing stay at this property
Our accommodation was amazing, beautiful picturesque views, comfortable living and the nautical theme of the different quarters is very imaginative as well as exciting for the kids to enjoy, Our hosts are very engaging, polite and respectful there isn't any negativity to be said about our week long stay or our hosts. The weather was amazing the accommodation is central to everything around the area. Was a very pleasant stay, I highly recommend this accommodation to everyone wanting a relaxing night or few, having a beverage while losing yourself in the views while chilling inside or out.

New Zealandthe driveway was very steep and windy ( a little tricky to reverse out of), the tv had no 'sky sport channels', the 2nd bedroom was very small - more appropriate for children rather than adults
a great view out over the harbour, very clean and had a great range of whiteware appliances (excellent fridge, washing machine & dryer etc), and a very comfortable master bedroom

United States of AmericaWe got used to it (because my husband is a great driver), but navigating the parking, particularly with a larger vehicle, was tight. A smaller car would have been much easier. That being said, one shouldn’t expect a large or flat car park for a place called The Lookout with such amazing views! 😊
My husband and I are traveling for 22 days from Auckland to Queenstown and this was our first overnight stop on the Main island for 2 nights. Our ferry was late and we had to drive 2hrs from Picton in the rain and arrived after dark. Parking was challenging for the first time, not knowing the area or being able to see well, so admittedly we were a little stressed upon arrival, but once inside, it was very cozy/comfortable with room to spread out. Upon waking in the morning (it was our 9th wedding anniversary) the sun was shining and stunning views and quiet made up for everything! Would absolutely recommend and would stay here again for sure. We fell in love with Nelson! Loved that The Lookout had a kitchen, 2 toilets, heated bed, a set of binoculars and an info page in the house book that listed the names of all the skyline peaks.

New Zealandthe driveway up to the property was steep and twisty, but that's the price I guess you have to pay for such magnificent views. the only minor issue was the tv was placed inside a closed cabinet with no chairs in the lounge facing it, so if you wanted to watch tv you would have to rearrange the furniture. further on the tv there were no 'Sky Sports' channels.
the view from the lounge is breathtaking. it is hard to imagine a better view anywhere in Nelson. the facilities were excellent with a full oven and large fridge. you don't get those often in motels.

United States of AmericaCould be more comfortable and updated inside. But we had a lovely stay.
The Wheelhouse Inn has the most magnificent view! It was incredible! It has big beautiful windows and a nice outdoor table to enjoy the view. This place was all about the view. The inside was clean, but a little outdated.

AustraliaThe 2 cockroaches we found and the mould in the shower. Suggest a toothbrush and exit mould. Most of it came off with a cloth I used while showering.
Amazing view, from both levels. The free biscuits. Tidy and the vases of fresh flowers were a nice homely touch.

JapanThe pillows were a bit too soft, but that was just a small thing.
The private and quietness in the area was a big plus during our stay. The view from the main deck was great and relaxing. Cleanliness on the main deck was on a very high standard which made out stay very pleasant and enjoyable. Plus: Love the maritime theme around the house and the story of how all started for Ralph and Sally. 😊

Australiahaha just a very typical steep, hidden NZ driveway!!!!!!!! Very busy road when you got down to the turn but nothing unmanageable!!! No curtains on the windows opening towards the car area and deck, and new people turned up to stay in the upstairs apartment and parked. It was a bit like a fish bowl for a bit as we were sitting in the living area relaxing and felt it was very open!!!!!!
Amazing water & mountain views all along the coast. The apartment had flowers on the dining table, was clean, spacious, warm, and sunny, had incredible views, was comfortable, had wi-fi, all amenities, oven/kitchen wear, beautiful floorboards, large bathroom and shower, heaters, lots of kitchen space, lots of areas to sit, comfortable, private bedroom, carpet, large deck, flowers in the garden everywhere, little pathways, loved the seagull on the roof-want one!!!!!! Was also close to some eateries/cafes along the waterfront down the bottom of the hill.

New ZealandBathroom (average) and access via a steep flight of stairs. These were very steep as was driveway to property making manoverability difficult and I'm use to being on the flat. Having said this however the property was nestled into the hillside and the views more than made up for this.
The views were breathtaking , great location for me, very well equipped, comfortable bed. Had everything one could possibly want.
