Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PhilippinesMaybe some of the furniture inside the villa should not be there since it occupies some space like the platform on the ground floor that looks like a stage.
I like the exclusivity of the place. There are no big crowds along the area, so you can have the beach all by yourselves.

United StatesWe liked everything and enjoyed our stay. If there is a floating platform for the snorkeling or rental kayaks, it would be a perfect for family vacation.
The room was unique. The view from the balcony was very nice, facing to the beach, quiet (only waves sound) with a nice breeze. The staff and owner were very nice. They helped us to get ferry tickets. The restaurant in front of beach was very good.

United KingdomThe property needs some TLC and is a little outdated. We had to opt for room clean everyday because ants infested certain areas of the property, particularly the toilet.
Villa marmarine is a mini paradise situated in a quieter location of the island. This suited our preference and we were happy to bike 20-25 mins to the main area of San Juan. Hiring a moped feels like a must in my opinion. The property was set beautifully next to the sea, with a couple of loungers to look out at sea and watch the sunset. We only ate breakfast here a couple of times, it was reasonable and convenient. The bed is very firm but this is personal taste. The staff at villa marmarine are as friendly as can be, a really great team that made us feel welcome with nothing being too much for them.

GermanyThe beds are in a Japanese style so very firm, although this is just down to personal preference.
Lovely quiet locations, right by the sea, easy to get to the port and easy to then use as a base to travel around the island. Very handy to have the onsite restaurant, as the hotel is quite far from the main tourist town of San Jaun. All the staff are very friendly

GermanyThe hotel is in urgent need of renovation. Despite the best efforts of the cleaning staff, keeping the room spotless was almost impossible, as a fine layer of sand or wood dust would settle again within hours, seemingly coming from the building structure itself. Another disappointment was the restaurant’s billing policy. When we paid our bill, we were surprised and frustrated to find that every single cup of coffee at breakfast was charged separately. This was not clearly stated on the menu. For example, when ordering a Philippine Breakfast that listed eggs, rice, chicken, and coffee, we assumed coffee would be included rather than limited to just one cup.
Review of Villa Marmarine Our stay at Villa Marmarine was truly wonderful. The location is stunning, and the setting of our room was simply spectacular. We stayed in a room on the first floor of a unique, round two-story building, and the spacious terrace offered breathtaking views of the sea. The room itself was beautifully decorated with many thoughtful details, including a water dispenser for drinking water, which was a nice touch. A special mention goes to Flor, the receptionist, who is an absolute gem. Her warm and attentive service made our stay even more enjoyable. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. The food at the hotel’s restaurant was quite good, and we chose to dine there several evenings.

IrelandRooms could do with a bit of an update. Quite a distance away from restaurants and bars so would need a scooter
Property was right on the beach although it was not the nicest beach we have seen. Very friendly staff and could rent a scooter which is needed as quite far away from the other side of the island with all the restaurants and bars. Breakfast was great also

PortugalI think the owner has lost some of his energy or drive. The kitchens are very scrappy, the beach has not been cleaned for ages. However the place retains its charm.

SpainThe cleanliness could be improved, maybe because nature in this country is growing so fast that it's harder to clean, but still. Also, there is a construction on the site that is being demolished which at the moment looks strange.
The space is amazing, just in front of the sea. And the people working there are super friendly and helpful. The little houses are very comfortable and beautiful.
