The staff are incredible so welcoming and helpful, particularly Hugo who goes out of his way to ensure you have a wonderful stay.

Wifi was non existent and not working at all Both doors in room are very tight and struck and need some woodwork attention A coffee machine in the kitchen would be a real winner instead of instant coffee Bed is very obveously a double bed and needs an extra cover as well as better pillows (too soft)

Location is absolutely stunning and magical if you like a mountain location feel Staff are super nice and helpful. Room was absolutely amazing and although the room can do with some improvements I will definitely keep this in mind the next time....

Wifi could be updated to meet with other standards in this hotel. Driving access to the hotel is an issue I've read about, but we have stayed here for 6 days and every day we went out and in without problems. Just drive carefully and nothing bad happens.

A very pleasant welcome, a good kitchen, very good cleaning service, a great location. Nothing to complain about. We felt like kings on a throne!

Beautiful boutique hotel. Stunning quiet location Spacious room with comfortable bed and well equipped Ideal location for cable car down to Funchal. Tropical gardens only a few yards up the road and absolutely stunning. Just around the corner are the toboggan rides. A must for everyone visiting this beautiful island And on the other side of the village is the cable car across to the botanical gardens

Our apartment was bigger than we expected, nicely furbished with what looked like a really new furniture and high quality facilities. Room was sparkling clean every day. We were very greateful also for free gifts we were given upon our arrival. Breakfast was the highlight of the day, everything was super tasty! We also tried the restaurant for dinner for 2-3 times, which was good, but not the best we had in Funchal. Staff was very friendly, mainly Mr. Hugo :). There is a parking inside the hotel area, where we never had a problem to park our car. Maybe one note - we received and email upon arrival about directions how to get to the hotel, where it was recommend to use exit 11 when arriving to hotel from airport. I don´t understand, but this exit is further away, and the road is more tortuous. We just used exit 12, which was much easier and faster. The hotel is located at the top of the hill, right next to the botanical garden and cabin that can take you down to Funchal, or you can use the bus to Funchal, which stops right next to the hotel. Since it´s at the top, you have a beautiful view from the room and restaurant, but the weather is much colder here, then in downtown, which is good to think about. I don´t really have anything negative to say about this place, it had everything we needed, was spacious, clean, modernly furbished with great breakfast and friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

Nothing at all

The superior room was lovely and the biggest one we stayed in in Europe, so comfortable with a great balcony to watch the moon and see the cruise ships in the distance. If you plan on leaving early for a hike the hotel will prepare you a very nice picnic the night before and I can’t tell you how perfect this was! Sonja, our host, was so helpful with recommendations and made us feel right at home.

A Wonderful Stay with Breathtaking Views Our stay at this hotel was truly memorable. The room was spacious, clean, and offered everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were incredibly polite, professional, and always ready to help with a smile, making us feel genuinely welcome. The hotel is perched on top of a hill, offering absolutely stunning panoramic views – especially during sunrise and sunset. Getting there can be a bit of a challenge due to the road, but once you arrive, the scenery is well worth the effort. Breakfast was generous and delicious every morning, with a variety of options to start the day off right. While the main dish remained the same each day, the quality and taste never disappointed. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with amazing views and warm hospitality, this place is definitely worth a visit.

It’s a wild ride to get there!

The location between the two cable cars and near one of the great gardens, perched above Funchal, a farm with a few sheep and chickens visible from the deck. Helpful, warm staff. Top-notch breakfast. Clean, pretty, comfy room. It looks old, but everything is up to date.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely fantastic. I had read many reviews about the service, but I never expected it to be this exceptional. From the very first moments of our arrival and check-in, we were truly impressed. The location is excellent—right next to the cable car, just steps away from the botanical garden, with its own parking and an on-site restaurant. The room was very cozy, and the bed was so comfortable that we didn’t want to get up in the morning. Now I want to have the same pillows at home! Housekeeping was done daily, and everything was impeccably clean. The room had everything needed for cooking, and the breakfast at the hotel was absolutely delicious. The staff constantly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. An amazing place to relax—we were completely satisfied and would love to return!

The hotel was up high away from the crowds but next to a bus stop and cable car station so easy access. Breakfast was amazing and so much food we didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

-Apt 11: Quite noisy (with windows closed) because of the restaurant right above and the service room next door. -The location of the hotel did not convince us - concerning view and sightseeing by car.

There was some noise from the external air conditioning unit over night.

Breakfast was always good, Staff were very attentive and generous. Room always cleaned to a great standard. It was nice that the restaurant quietened down in the evening so we could have a relaxed evening meal.

The TV reception wasn't very good.

The location was excellent right next to the cable car, a walk to botanical gardens. We caught the Pico do Aeeiro bus a 10 mins walk away
