Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaNavigation to the property was difficult for us, we are not used to narrow streets with many one ways. Perhaps some written directions for different approaches may help
The breakfast was superb, so much variety and very fresh. The history of the building was fascinating and Emelia was very generous with her time.

CanadaThis is literally an old mansion that has been nicely modernized but retains an immense amount of the original character and details. Decent amount of parking on the street in front. Great breakfast. We had the better room with a massive king bed. Modern bathroom. Good heaters. You have the use of many of the common rooms for relaxing. Library. Pool table. Sitting room. Massive dining rooms all in period decor. Amelia who operates this home is very lovely and pleasant.

United States of AmericaNot a thing. Property is on rather a steep hill, but not an issue if you go back and forth by car.
It’s hard to know where to start when describing this property. Our rooms were large and spacious, and decorated with old world elegance. The beds were even larger than king size and super comfy. The breakfast was excelkent and served in a beautiful dining room. The whole place felt luxurious, from the cozy lounge, with fireplace, to the billiard room and den. The staff was kind and attentive. Highly recommended.

RussiaAmazing hotel, full of charming details like paintings and monuments and original pieces of furniture. The lovely host made a tour around the building and told about the history of the hotel. The room itself was very spacious, no problems with the water and tasty breakfast upstairs! I would definetely stay here during my next trip to the mountains. 10/10!

We arrived at the house after a stressful day having broken down in Nazare. We couldn’t find the house to begin with, it was far and raining and we weren’t in sane mind!! Amelia was delightful, she came out with an umbrella to find us and welcomed us like long lost friends. Within a minute of being inside our stresses fell away and we settled into the beautiful home. Our room was stunning, the bed super comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was coffee, tea, water and a range of beautiful cakes and rice biscuits on a tray in the hall for us to enjoy. The TV room, snooker table and chess nook are delightful and breakfast is something else! The best green juice I have ever tasted and the best banana bread outside of Australia!!! Thank you so much for a lovely stay and making us feel so at home and welcome. We spent a lovely few hours in Granittus Bar with some super friendly locals. The wine was superb and the food fresh and flavoursome. Would highly recommend.

PortugalThere's nothing negative to point out, so I'll just make a suggestion: it would be nice to eventually replace the bathtub with a shower base, which is more accessible for elderly people and others for whom it may be difficult to hop into the tub.
The house is an old manor full of character and charm, right in the center of Manteigas. The room is very spacious, the heating works great and the bed is comfy. The staff is really friendly, and went above and beyond to provide vegan breakfast options for us, after we asked at the time of booking if there would be any. They got us plant milk, yogurt, cheese, butter and galantine, and even made delicious apple pastries and pancakes for us! That's on top of what I assume is their usual, "accidentally vegan" assortment of different kinds of bread, cereal, fruit and jams. We couldn't be happier.

United States of AmericaHistory oozes from the walls here. It is so much fun to go up the steps that feel like you're about to meet the ruler of the castle. The room I had (with sitting room) was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast offered a large spread with lots of variety. The hostess is very helpful and kind.

South AfricaBeautiful old spacious house, with modern bedrooms and bathrooms. The beds were comfy and bedding great. The communal are is big and beautiful, feels like going back in time because of the use of stone and size of the area. It is however cozy with ample heating provided when it got cold. Enough games , including a snooker table to keep us occupied while it was raining and cold. The host is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. Overall a memorable stay
