Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing to dislike.
Very comfortable hostel accommodation. Having a private room with en suite was great. The staff were very helpful & friendly. Communal cooking facilities were excellent. This is a great place to explore the area and to discover more about the Coa Valley, rewilding & Rewilding Portugal. Top experience.

PortugalThat we couldn’t spend more time here and in the area :)
This was the perfect base for our field trip with a group of tweens. They loved the pool table and playground and it’s awesome be able to swim in the river Côa that is so nearby! The village and the people are very welcoming and it’s safe and feels like you’re walking through a medieval town, all the stone houses and walls are so impressive. A warm welcome by Alexandra and David making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay and it’s great by staying here we contributed to the Rewilding Portugal foundation, highly recommended!

United KingdomA great place as a "base" for exploring the area - brilliant for anyone into hiking and nature! And staying here supports the work of Rewilding Portugal. I would say the place is halfway between a hostel and a hotel. The bed was very comfortable and there was heating available, which was needed as it was unusually cold at the time during my stay. The room was attractively furnished and clean. The communal areas also felt comfortable and well thought-out.

United StatesThe room is large, but there are not shelves to put things out. There are large drawers under the beds, but they are not easy to use. The shared bathroom is mostly fine, but there is a bad small sometimes, like maybe a missing plumbing vent.
This is a great hostel-style lodging. There is a fantastic commercial-style kitchen for those who prepare their own food. (Which is the best option, as there are no cafes in this tiny village.) On this trip I visited the site of the re-introduction of wild horses in the Côa valley.

PortugalWell, we knew it ahead so not really an issue but beware that you cannot join single beds and there are no double beds.
The room was really comfy, and the blackout window shades were a big win – they made a huge difference to our sleep. The AC warmed the room up nicely, which was just what we needed. The hotel is super pet-friendly – my dog absolutely loved it. But the best part was the breakfast. There was A LOT of food and everything was really delicious. Also, a small but cosy details in the room were the locally made wool blankets.

NetherlandsWhat a wonderful place. A small village up in the mountains near Pinhel with good walking, great views and a fantastic (though difficult to get to) riverbeach. The Center is great, it is spacious, with a good kitchen and upstairs a balcony where you can sit to see the sun go down. And a pooltable! Alexandra , the host made us very welcome.

United StatesThe local church plays recorded bells every half hour through the day. They don't start too early, or go on too late, and they are outside the Centro's control, but they're a bit disruptive.
I am a return visitor to Centro Rewilding. It is in a charming small village, and just above the Rio Côa. It is close to the small city of Pinhel, for supplies, and a great respite. The large, available commercial kitchen is a real plus.

United KingdomNothing.
This is a really unique place to stay. It is in a lovely situation surrounded by nature and the organisation that run it are working towards reintroducing wild life into the area that have been decimated by land use practices. There is plenty of information in Centro Rewilding about the work that they do. The house is spotlessly clean, spacious and warm and Alexandria was helpful in showing us round and showing us where to store our bicycles. We had our own room with bathroom and the shower was the best in the world!! There is a well equipped kitchen that you can use and a large communal area with a TV. There are lots of walks in this beautiful area and so much exploring to do. Highly recommended.

United StatesThere's a faint odor of plumbing gas in the shared bathroom I used. Perhaps there needs to be a plumbing vent.
This is a new, comfortable, modest lodging with a purpose. "Rewilding Portugal" is involved with projects mostly in the Coa River valley. The location here in Vale de Madeira highlights the beauty of the natural landscape, and the acceptance of the Rewilding Center in the small village. The kitchen was especially nice. It allowed me to fix my own means (and clean up afterwards, of course), but it's big enough to serve events and large groups. Very well done, very well thought out facility. Good showers, good mini-split heater in my room. Very clean, with attentive staff.

United KingdomRoom was cold. Heating system seemed to go off at some point in the night and I slept in all my clothes. Would be good to have extra blankets in the room and not only a thin duvet and thin blanket. Generally I found the communal areas cold too. Single beds in the room had raised lips on 1 side so couldnt get out of bed that side - a bit awkward cos only small gap between 2 beds to move around to go to toilet in the night. Me and other guests couldnt work out how to use gas hobs on cooker, and staff member came specially from home to help...so would be helpful if there were some instructions somewhere in the kitchen.
Peaceful location. Quiet room. Hot water. Use of kitchen, fridge, cooker was fantastic. Woman staff member who greeted us was very warm and friendly. Lovely village.Nice big shower.
