Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandI can’t say anything bad about my stay, I enjoyed it. Just a little note that my room was with a lovely view balcony but the noise from the cargo loading onto the cargo ships was a bit loud sometimes during our stay.
Very clean, staff are very accommodating

United KingdomIdeally the bathroom would have a towel rail & more hooks. Note: hotel is very close to port container handling, but double-glazed windows kept out any noise.
Friendly staff, perfect water temperature in swimming pool, and modern room. Great area for fish restaurants & beach.

United KingdomJust small things, like could do with a few more hooks on the bathroom wall to hang swimsuits , damp robes, etc. (Only 1 book apart from the towel rail) Also, could do with a wall light in the mini bar cupboard, as the door blocks the light from the hall - very dark corner for making tea,/coffee.
Plenty of choice for the continental breakfast. The beds very comfortable, and the mini bar with tea/ coffee facilities much appreciated. Loved having the use of the pool and spa, and the spa treatments were a treat. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The location was very convenient - near beach, metro and buses, and best fish restaurants.

United KingdomWe were there for the primavera sound music festival. It was just a 15 min walk from the site. Matosinhos is a great area with so many local fresh fish restaurants, the beach and lots of independent bars. The beach is also right there.

IrelandWe had booked a Deluxe Double room with a balcony on the 3rd floor and when we arrived into the room everything looked lovely. We had a sea view straight ahead but to the right was a large container area for containers coming in and out of the port. (See photos)The noise was terrible and you couldn't have a conversation out on the balcony if containers were moving. I always do a lot of research before I book a hotel, read all the reviews. Nowhere did it mention this container park. When making this booking I specifically asked for a quiet room away from noise and under our room / balcony was the electrical noise / hum from the swimming pool! When I went down to the front desk to complain about all of this I was eventually offered a change of room but this room only had the view of the containers. I was also told that this hotel was seen as a business hotel! We then were offered a room on the 2nd floor fronting onto one of the streets which we decided to take which had a balcony too. The noise was manageable, bit of street noise and the seagulls! Had I known all of this beforehand I don't think I would have booked this hotel for 6 nights for our trip to Porto. I had thought it would be nice to have the beach as well as the city on our holiday. Having said all of this the hotel was beautiful and very well appointed for all the fabulous restaurants which were literally across the street from the hotel no more than 5 minutes walk and even less. Lovely safe area to stay in and eat out in. Unfortunately our last day was the day of the power outage but we eventually got money and food around 9.30 pm that night at a restaurant across the street. Before then we literally had €20 to our names!
The hotel was lovely, very contemporary and looked just like the photos. The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was lovely and big and the ensuite was amazing, beautiful shower etc.The bed was huge felt like a super super king bed and the mattress and pillows were so comfortable. I have no complaints about the hotel just where it is situated. The area was very safe and full of mostly fish restaurants which we ate in every night bar one when we went to MC Donald's ( for a burger !)which was just up the road beside Lidl. The bus into and out of Porto is the 500 .If you go out of the hotel turn right take first left then left again it will bring you to the bus stop. Tap your card and it costs €1 each way. You can pick it up outside Lidl also. Takes about 20 minutes to get into Porto. Sit on the right side going in and on the left coming out for the sea view! The hairdryer in the room is normal size so no need to bring your own. We got milk from the bar for tea/ coffee. Bottle of water free on first day only! Got a free taxi from the airport to the hotel with Booking.com and booked a return one for day of departure and it cost €11 approx. To book one through the hotel was going to cost between €20-€25. Best service ever, both bookings with Booking.com. 👏 Lovely places to stop on the way into Porto, market on a Sunday in the large park on the way in. Matosinhos has a lovely beach and there's a great place to eat on the beach. All in all Matosinhos is a lovely place to stay in but away from the port noise if possible.

NorwayThat it rained a lot when we were there, but that was not the property’s fault :)
The location, in the street with lots of really good seafood restaurants. The pool, which was under a roof, with glass doors to the garden and large enough to swim in. The balcony of our superior room, which had view to the sea and harbour area. That you could take a bus to the Serralves art museum and gardens, which is not too far away. That you can take a stroll along the long beach. That you can take Metro to town.
