Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Kingdom- Food quality was fairly average and the booking process for the specialty restaurants is outdated - Staff were nice but the whole venue seemed under-staffed - not enough receptionists and not enough waiters at the buffet restaurants who were working flat out and struggled to keep up - Poor soundproofing in the rooms so you could easily hear doors banging and furniture screeching
- Nice concept with the all inclusive allowing use of all restaurants and pool facilities across all the MGM hotels, though execution could be improved - Good location about 10 minutes drive from Old Town, lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance, close to a beach

United KingdomThe overall vibe of the hotel wasn't suitable for a young family. The sister hotels were much more accommodating for us, far better amenities. The pool was overflowing with young adults, heavily drinking with a disregard for others around the pool. The pools were also freezing. A lot of noise of an evening and throughout the night of people coming and going, shouting and being drunk.
Location was great, having access to the other sister hotels was great. The kids play area was good.

United KingdomRun down. It was clean but dated. Definitely not 5*, more like 3*. All inclusive was just okay and our room wasn’t cleaned in the 3 days we stayed there. We had to ask for towels and toilet roll each day.
Central with Ubers cheap to both old and new towns. Good service at buffet and bars.

IrelandSome of the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful.. Checkin time was 4pm and no exceptions appeared to be accepted for earlier check in...however reception would not deal even at 3.54pm..it seemed excessive for the sake of 6mins.. There are definitely not enough pool loungers. They do not allow reserving loungers but it doesn't stop people. With beds unused for a lot of the day..I understand the frustration.. Also, a staff member removed my towel from a lounger one morning to give to another guest while I had stepped aside to have a cigarette rather than smoke near pool area. When I saw her i approached and said that it was my lounger/towel, she proceeded to berate me in front of the whole pool area about not being able to reserve loungers threw my towel and towel clips in a heap and stormed off..I was physically present unlike many other unused loungers with towels reserving them.. Not an acceptable way to treat a guest.. Of the front of house staff , 3 of the 4 I dealt with were rude..everyone else , especially the cleaning staff were really nice and friendly! It was a very pleasant stay overall 🙂
The location suited us perfect, supermarkets shops and cafes very close to walk to and walking distance to the newtown strip and a short taxi ride to the oldtown costing average €4.50 ..the hotel was nice with spacious self catering rooms. Towels were changed daily. I was worried about noise and rowdy guests , being close to the 'strip' but I needn't have worried , it was perfectly fine.. The clientele was older with not many kids running about too..

IrelandI was delighted with our room overlooking the pool but I would not be happy with the rooms at the rear of the hotel as they are blocked by trees and the garden and children's play area was neglated.

PortugalBreakfast was a little expensive in our opinion. Some of the decor was out of date and in poor condition
Hotel is really nice, more updated than it's counterparts that are dotted around the area. You can share restaurants with other MGM hotels which is good and offers variety. We only had breakfast at the hotel which was ok. Rooms are comfortable, and bathroom clean. Staff friendly and helpful.

United KingdomOn occasion, the food standards were not high. Great variety of dishes but often lacking flavour.
The hotel had fantastic facilities - being able to go to dofferent ‘sister’ hotels as part of the all inclusive meant a good change of scenery too. The all inclusive was exactly as advertised, 2 drinks per person at any one time, and staff were always present to serve drinks. Good selection of food options, with themed buffet nights but also 10+ restaurants available to book within a short walking distance. Beds in the apartment were good too, and could not hear other guests at any point.

United KingdomThe hotel was comfortable and very clean but the decor was a bit dated and to be honest not really the standard you would expect of a five star rating. Our fridge door was almost hanging off. The decor could definitely do with an upgrade for sure.
The breakfast we only had on the first day and there was a wide selection but at 15 euro a person was a bit overpriced. We found little cafes beside the hotel who offered an excellent breakfast fir a third of the price.

United KingdomOne of the receptionists was a bit clumsy. She putting on the all inclusive wrist bands on us and when she was cutting of the excess with the scissors she caught and big chunk of my stepsons arm in the blade, luckily the blade was blunt and didn’t cut it off. Also she messed up one our restaurant reservations at one of the hotel restaurants. Despite her writing it down on a paper and giving it to us she didn’t make the correct booking so we was turned away at the door
Decent hotel, it has everything you need. The outdoor toilets / shower room by the pool needs sorting out and cleaning. But everything else was decent.

United StatesEverything in my room looks old. There is a dining table which has mismatch chairs, a wobbly one and three others with stain. There is janitors’ old bucket, broom and mop permanently put in the clothes closet. A lots of ants around the kitchen counter top. I have been traveling around the world and have never experienced any Five stars hotel or hotel apartment like this one.
The hotel is close to many restaurants, night clubs and about 10 minutes walking to the beach. Rooms are bigger compared to any other hotel apartment in the region, especially the patio.

United KingdomNeed to get a lounger early and if you have dietary requirements, talk to staff, they are helpful.
Some of the negative comments about this hotel are so unfair. I enjoyed a ten night stay and had q great experience. Staff are hard working, pleasant and helpful, especially Edgar the chef who provides amazing variety and quality food on the Buffet, Annabella on reception who gives great advice for travelling etc.. and the lovely Manoj at the pool bar who always has a warm smile and welcome. I am a vegetarian and have been very impressed by the fresh fruits, salads, bread/cake selection on offer. I enjoyed a lovely chickpea curry with baked butternut squash which was delicious, had a fresh vegetablelasagne and many other lovely meals. Yes the rooms are a bit dated but the beds are exceptionally comfortable and the room is spacious and clean. Good air conditioning, good shower, and importantly, a central location to travel around. The MGM group has many hotels which guests can also enjoy, and I have visited a few already, but I would return to this one again. Highly recommend for quality and value. Plenty to do close by, can spend days in the old town with an abundance of shops, restaurants and bars, as we as the stunning beaches. Recommend a day trip to Vilamoura where we enjoyed the Bengal cave boat trip.

IrelandThe apartment was too big for 2 people, TV didn't work, the view was terrible, mosquitoes were flying over our ears and disturbing us from sleeping at night. There was no discount for meals for 4 people. Linens weren't changed for the five nights, and we always have to ask before getting fresh towels or even the apartment to be cleaned. This place isn't worth the money we paid.
The place had a kitchen and you could cook your own food. We also had a welcome bottle of wine, which was nice. Some of the staff were polite and friendly.

United KingdomDesserts were too repetitive and would have liked to have seen UK type selections, eg variety of cheese cakes, apple tarts and ice cream and hot custard.
Nice variety of breakfast items, although better cuts of bacon( back bacon) would have been nice instead of the streaky bacon. Lunch and dinner selection were good. Accommodation standard was good and poor mattresses in Room 231 was promptly dealt with.

United KingdomHad tea making facilities in our room but no teabags or coffee. We grabbed some from the restaurant on the 2nd day. Also, we arrived about 11pm, but the bar was closed. There was no bottled water in the room, and the vending machine at reception only took coins, so we couldn't use it. Just little things but something that could be tweaked for an improved service.
Great value for money. The room was spacious and comfortable. The pool is a good size with a nice little pool bar that severed a great selection of snacks in the afternoon. Staff friendly. Great location. Good all-rounder hotel. Will book again
