Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PortugalThe building is huge and the hallways are very long, which makes sense due to its original use, but they could do a better job with access to the outside gardens. Our room was located on the 2nd floor at the end of the hall, which made it a very long walk to get outside as the doors are locked at that end. There was no way our dog would be able to make this walk to relieve herself, so we requested a move to the ground floor. Our dog was able to access the garden, but we weren't as there are gates across the doors. A little odd. Although dogs are 'allowed', they are only permitted in the room or outside (but, not the pool area), which is inconvenient when trying to have a cocktail in the bar or dine anywhere on the property.
The building is absolutely gorgeous and the grounds are lovely. The breakfast buffet is large and plentiful. We ordered room service and the quality of the meal (which can be questionable with room service) was very high, the food was hot and similar to a restaurant experience. We brought our dog and she was welcomed with a fun gift box. Lastly, their bartender makes a delicious old fashioned!

United KingdomIt was a shame pool wasn't open yet. 30c my husband would have been in. The dog barking next door for an hour but once mentioned to reception never heared it again. I was dreading the night but no need. We did have a very squeeky floor board.
Attention to detail. The setting and grounds were amazing. Breakfast excellent. Dinner and wine list excellent. Bar and cocktails were a great addition. Staff were some of the best we have had the pleasure of.

JapanThere was only one thing that i did not like about the room. Unfortunately, when you turn on the bathroom light, it floods the entire living area with light due to the glass partition at the top near the ceiling. Other than that, i dont have any problems with the room. It is a small thing.
Wonderful building, great location on the mountain. The room was warm on a chilly night. The staff gave us a table near the fireplace, i was happy with that.

United States of AmericaThe beds were a little too firm. A memory foam mattress topper would be a great addition to the comfort of the room. The large metal bedroom doors and room key were a bit difficult to manage, and noisy when opening. Other then that, it was a lovely place to stay.
The room was large, and had a nice sitting area by two large windows overlooking the front of the property. The grounds are really nice. We were there in early October, so the garden was not in bloom, but I suspect it looks great in the spring and summer. The pool are was also a great spot to relax, but the water not so inviting in early October (chilly). We were in Lisbon for close to 2-weeks, and the diner at the on-site restaurant was spectacular, one of the best meals we had in Lisbon. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Take some time to explore the entire building and grounds.
