Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaSmall complaint but we like tea at night and most other hotels had either the hot water electric kettle in the room or a coffee maker that you could make tea or it was available 24 hrs in the breakfast room. This hotel did not have that and it was slightly annoying!
The location of the hotel is excellent. All by itself on a beautiful stretch of beach. You can’t really see the ocean from the hotel though, but you can take a nice walk and be there in 5 mins. The rooms are scattered amongst a few buildings and it was very charming. There is a small spa with a warm pool and sauna and steam which was a nice perk. But you have to ask the staff to turn on for you and they were upstairs so that was mildly annoying. The outside pool was nice and while it was to cool to swim just laying in the sun felt good and I’m sure during the summer it is a very popular place. The breakfast was very nice but we had better in the smaller boutique hotels we stayed at. It was nice to sit on the balcony and enjoy it though.

NetherlandsIt’s hard to keep everything dry with so much rain and the ocean close by. But do keep the rooms aired please to keep the humidity at bay. Housekeeping would close the windows that I’d leave open on purpose.
Small hotel, very nice location. Good walk to Cascais for dinner, cheap taxi back. The sound of the ocean during the night, marvelous. The waves are huge! Breakfast is very complete, it could be offered a bit earlier than 7.30 We also enjoyed the restaurant on the other side of the street.

AustraliaI wish I hadn’t had splashed out for ocean view because I basically didn’t get one. My terrace was basically a footpath behind a not so pretty garden, so I felt taken advantage of there. Overall a really great stay, I was only disappointed with my terrace and wish I didn’t pay for one.. because it was pricey. Other terraces were adorable though! So perhaps just be specific when you book. The photos were not what I got and unless you smoke (which I don’t) there was no need to be out there, so I was shut in my room the whole time, which wasn’t what I had planned.
Beautiful property, my room was lovely; inside the room was large and really nice. The terrace restaurant was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Great view of the water. I used the gym and the spa, was a lovely morning. Lovely walk into town too. Or a quick Uber.

United States of AmericaBeds need to be upgraded. They are not conducive to a really good night's sleep. For 1 day doable, anything longer probably not so much.
Location and views were great. Right across the street from a really nice restaurant. Exceptional and friendly staff made sure we had a great stay

IrelandIn general, very clean. Exception being carpets - light colour, discolouration on stairs and in our bedroom where it looked like someone spilled a good number of 'spots' of red wine (?) - definitely needed stain treatment. Pity because it was luxurious to walk on. There was an electricity cabinet just inside the door which hummed - got used to it but slightly annoying. Bathroom - had massive window into the bedroom - why? Thankfully there was a big roller blind otherwise would have no privacy!! Sea view - ended up being side on with a big tree impacting, when sitting on our balcony, whereas the standard sea view rooms all appeared to be 'front on' - disappointing because there was quite a price difference. Also, our room 215 was slightly recessed which meant no sun until later in afternoon, whereas others had sun most of the day. It also was just above steps into reception which meant everyone coming into/out of hotel looked straight into our balcony which was off-putting. I would probably book a standard sea view on my return.....and I would return! It is such a pity there is no bar/room service/food service after 7pm though. One niggle - I dont drink coffee - Nespresso Machine with 2 coffee capsules provided. Additional capsules cost €2 each which I thought was out of synch with hotel style.
Location was what we wanted - outside Cascais (about 4km walk or alternatively €6 taxi) but with option of pretty good restaurants within 1km, including a nice Fish Restaurant opposite the hotel. We walked happily. A bit further to really good long beach (Guincho) in the other direction with Lifeguard, used in spots by Surfers, and sunbeds €15 pp. Could cycle (excellent cycle path along coast), but in 30's heat, was glad we opted for car hire - Off road parking a little expensive @ €8 for about 5hrs, but clean toilets on site, plus on beach bar (with nice wraps) or another good food bar beside car park. Wanted and got a quiet Boutique style 2 story hotel rather than large 'busy' hotel. We chose a larger 'sea view' room which had lots of space and fabulous bed. Really good choices at breakfast buffet. Hot food - with an option of an Omelette on request. Very good range of fresh fruits sliced, on different plates plus big bowl of whole fruits. Selection of breads, croissants and sweet items. Could also have 'Bucks Fizz' if you could manage that for Breakfast!! And many people did (more than one glass!!). Nice pool, plenty of sunbeds and a pool bar (up to 7pm) - good for lunch or drinks. Staff unobtrusive but friendly and helpful. Lovely bathroom with massive bath, with rainforest shower, which had option on handheld shower too. A hedge separates the pool area from the road - definitely hear traffic but with light music from pool bar, it is not intrusive. It has a Spa, which I didnt use. Would I bring children, no but would I return, absolutely.

NetherlandsI expected more on the swimming pool area and the room in itself. I thought that the bed mattress and pillow were "too"soft.
The view is excleent just in front of the ocean and somehow close to the city center. I liked the "colonial"style of the hotel and food was also good. (breakfast). There are bikes that you can rent in the hotel.
