Nice house and the garden with a pool. Room was basic, bathroom was really big. Washing machine for clothes. Good location near bars and shops. We didn't see the staff but we got a code to check in.

There is an indoor fireplace to dry your shoes (which is nice) but it creates a vibration and humming noise in the room I was sleeping in. It's not a deal breaker though.

This place is lovey!! Excellent value for money. This is by far the nicest place I stayed at on the Camino. Clean and comfortable. The weather wasn't good but the outside area with pool would be perfect if you want to relax after a long day of walking. It's a bit of the path but definitely worth it.

I can’t think of a thing that wasn’t perfect about Solar Laginha.

Everything. It felt more like home than any hostel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff was very friendly and helpful, there was a lovely garden and a pool, two dining areas not including the kitchen, it’s within walking distance to the sea and all amenities in town, beds luxuriously comfortable ….

I had to wait for a few hours in a cafe before I could check in.

Warm, friendly and supportive with a communal environment. I loved staying at the lodging while on the Camino. After a day of walking in the rain, the pellet stove was a welcome treat.

Loved the property, even had a great pool. Has a different part of the property where they rent the rooms for longer periods, like weekly and monthly. Will consider staying there again for a few days in the future. There was only one issue with the door in our bedroom’s bathroom, it would not close properly, nor be able to lock from the inside, which can be remedied easily.

Property is amazing, a country home from the mid 1800 with all it’s charm. Too bad we were only staying for one night as peregrinos while doing the Camino Portugues. We felt so welcome the moment we stepped inside the gate, with Andreia’s smile and her helping us fetch our mochilas and luggage to our second floor room. Upon asking her for a masseuse recommendation, we were surprised to learn her boss Fernando (the owner of Solar Laginha) happens to be a massage therapist! He stopped by 5-10 minutes later, and we agreed for him to come back with his massage table an hour later for massages for my friend and myself. Fernando was “God sent”, I had pulled a back muscle a day before, and was not 100%, and he sure fixed it. And the ultimate surprise was he refused payment for his services, it was on him as a treat to 2 senior pilgrims. So I’m not young, and I’ve never encountered such a gracious gesture, thanks you Fernando, may God reward you with health and love.

The property was fantastic. Clean and,well, cared for lodging. The beds were comfortable, and bathrooms were clean. The owners are wonderful. Lots of love in that place. There is a washing machine.

Because the main building is very spacious and there's no central heating, our room on the second floor was quite cool - it was a chilly, rainy evening outside. We had extra blankets with us so were comfortable but it wouldn't have been great without that. The check-in instructions came immediately before time to check in. That's understandable so people don't go in early, but I would have appreciated a message to let us know that's the plan because it was a little anxiety-producing just waiting and not knowing if they're just busy with other things and might not get to it.

This is a magnificent property, looks like it's rich in history and well maintained. Everything is orderly and clean. The bedding was better than average, very comfortable. The pool area was lovely, clean and very quiet.

Everything! The grounds are amazing with wonderful landscaping. Pool and deck surrounding it are great. The house is well appointed and kitchen is fully equipped. Our room was very nice with a view of the pool. Restaurants and mercado also within walking distance.

The host was very kind and welcoming, and made sure there was enough heat in the house on a cold day. The quad room was very spacious with comfortable beds and great views. The house was clean and well equipped. If we were to return to Afife, we would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely nothing!

Stunning country home with beautiful views of ocean and mountains. Although we were the only visitors, the house felt warm and welcoming…lights on, pellet stove blazing! Kitchen was amazing! Bedroom and bathroom were spotless…bed linens very fresh smelling. Property management/owners responded immediately to our needs in perfect English.

The water pressure on the toilets are very low.

one of the cleanest accommodations l've slept in. very stylish, the employees are very friendly and filipa is also an interesting personality. This accommodation deserves 4 stars. I'm very happy and if I'm in the area again I'll sleep here. Internet good, check in and check out times are very pleasant. I love it here. The pool is also great, but unfortunately it's just too cold. The landlady is friendly, helpful and was always available.

Good communication and really helpful responses throughout. The grounds are lovely too with great views. Much quieter location than neighbouring towns, but they aren't far away either.
