“Nice owner, very helpfull. Great athmosphere of french countryside in the house and especially in the garden. Tasty fresh breakfast. Highly recommended!”
“Les Deux Chevaux was easy to find and there was lots of parking space. The location is stunning: mountains, vineyards, beautiful trees. The building itself looks charmingly rustic, has lots of authentic features and is well maintained. There is a secluded garden with different seating options, we made use of these for our evening drinks and picnics. We had the blue room and we found it very comfortable, there is plenty of storage space, has a good size bed and has a great view of the sunrise. The shutters helped keep the room cool. The bathroom was a very good size, and the shower was very good, the fittings felt new and was really clean. The breakfast was fresh (the bread was bought from the local bakery every morning) and there were a range of fruits, alongside ham, cheese, bread, muesli, yoghurt and eggs to order. Every night was quiet and we slept well. The real gem of Les Deux Chevaux though is its hosts. Phil and Adam were so welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable that they elevated our stay to the next level. They helped us plan our itinerates, told us about the local customs and traditions and are clearly very passionate about providing guests with the best stay possible. One night we ordered dinner, and we enjoyed a delicious homemade main & dessert using produce from the garden. There is lots to do in the local area, we recommend having a car to able to access everything. We especially enjoyed swimming in the lake at Puivert, and climbing up the mountain to explore the castle of Peyrepetuse and exploring the medieval village of Alet-des-Bains. As nature lovers, we were also excited to see vultures, griffons, buzzards, butterflies, hedgehogs, and red squirrels. Lastly, there are a few English people in the area, but knowing a little French will help when out and about. We found the locals to be really welcoming and friendly.”
“Our host and her husband were so very welcoming. Greeted us with an exceptionally warm bonjour. Loads of wonderful smiles and nothing was too much trouble. In all our Booking.com experiences, we have never given a venue an exceptional 10 out of 10 rating - well done 👏”
“The hosts were brilliant. The accommodation was an amazing surprise, beautiful decor, excellent air conditioning, and a splendid breakfast in a wicker basket. The hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly. We rate this stay at the highest rating.”
