It's a bit out of the way and hard to get anywhere else. Could be ideal if you want a getaway, book your tours through the hotel, and/or will just stay in the villa for your whole trip. The beachfront is also pretty rocky and need to walk on a rocky path before accessing a sandy beach.

The premises is gorgeous, peaceful, and quiet.

Unfortunately some improvements are needed. The WiFi was very poor. It rarely worked in my room / Lodge which was frustrating. Due to the WiFi issues the tv also did not work. I was provided with a discount as I result of this which was appreciated. The safety deposit box in the room did not work either, which I was told was due to the batteries having run out. It would have been nice to have the bar / restaurant area open a little later than 8pm. It also proved quite difficult to order ubers from there. This is not an issue with the resort but am flagging especially for solo travellers.

I had a lovely stay at this resort in early January 2024. The resort itself is lovely and I felt very relaxed there.

**Note: Google maps is incorrect. You need to take the road where the Texaco gas station is to get there. You'll see a faded sign that says Mandala Eco Villas and smaller ones along the way. Hope this helps!** Not much privacy - The bathroom is not an actual separate room, so it can get a little awkward. The shower is outdoors, which is fine, but the villa next to us was a 2-story one, and I felt like they could see over the wall. Lastly, at night, even if you have the shades down and lights on, you can see directly into the villa. It felt weird changing in the room.

So beautiful and unique! Each villa has their own path and patio, so it's truly feels like your own little house. Security and parking is a plus. The location is nice and peaceful, but not walking distance from much. If you're looking for a livelier area, stay closer to Tunco.

The only thing what, I did not really like it was the hours what the restaurant close and open. They close very early and open a little be late/morning.

The property is very nice and clean, the bohemian style is amazing.

They need to limit the amount of day guests allowed access, it mostly seemed there were more day guests than staying guests around the pool which meant we weren’t able to use the pool to swim. Staff in the restaurant are friendly but not overly proactive. There is a lot of litter on the beach, which I believe as an eco lodge, they could create an initiative to help litter pick - We would have happily done this if the provided bags etc.

Villas were lovely and very comfortable with much welcomed air con! Outdoor shower with warm water was perfect. It was very quiet and out of the way, we found the hammock area extremely relaxing. They arranged a seamless transfer to the airport for us.

Although it is beachfront, it is paid with rocks, so you cannot access the beach and also I feel that more care to the upkeep of the villas could be made. For example, in mind I had some lights that didn’t work and also you don’t even have a bottle of water as a welcome And I feel that for the price point and comparing it to other properties in the same area that is an oversight

The fact that the room was equipped for 4 people they charged $40 for a 3rd person, it was something that I didn’t like. So make sure you enter the right amount of people when booking. No desk or more furniture to sit your belongings, only 3 sitting chairs and a small outdated coffee table. On the bathroom no place to hang towels, and bring your hairdryer since there was none in the room.

The gardens and paths were nice to walk by, nature friendly. Nice sea view pool. The fact that breakfast was included was A+. One of our guest was provided warm blankets and a coffee maker if she wanted coffee before restaurant was open for breakfast.

The staff were very nice and kind. Marie was exceptional, she took her time to cater to us which I found a very nice thing to do. Our room was spacious with comfy beds.

The only thing I didn’t like much is the bathroom was outside of the villa, not sure if it was because the room we chose was a 3 bed room but would have been more comfortable if the bathroom was inside the villa as well

The restaurant is not good for what you pay, it's better if you can consider take your car and find somewhere else to eat out.

The staff was super friendly, the parking lot was big enough, it is located near many POI for convinece to have night life, the facilities are nice.

It got a little crowded with outside day pass guests coming in, but I also was aware and prepared for that in advance. It really didn’t bother me a ton since I was prepared for it.

First, the communication prior to arrival was amazing! I had a bad storm in my hometown and was without power for days, and Mandala was willing to let me change dates on a non-refundable stay. The arrangement of airport pickup and arrival at the hotel at midnight went well. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous!!! I know some complained of dogs, but I didn’t see any in the restaurant area and were around the pool instead. Staff was very nice and accommodating.

The hotel was hard to find, the Google maps directions were inaccurate.

This is a gem. The staff was very friendly (thanks M.J.), the location is great too. Small path for hiking, good food and location I only wish I had booked the hotel for longer!

I would recommend adding a full length or bigger mirror in the room, the mirror in the bathroom is too small plus the lighting is not good for doing hair/makeup and getting dress.

This place was beautiful! the room was comfortable, loved the outdoor shower, the grounds were so nicely maintained, and the staff was super nice. I enjoyed myself and I plan on staying here again if I'm ever in El Salvador again and this is coming from a person that isn't really a nature person, I miss it already.

faces a rocky beach; one needs to walk through rocks to get to a Sandy beach; rocks are full of plastic trash and animal excrement. a very skinny unloved homeless dog and feral cats roam the property and beg for food at the restaurant

The staff were very slow when we ordered something. Sometimes we even went to the Bar to get it personally and it was not even full. The rooms NEED to have a mirror not the one in the bathroom but a big mirror.

The food was delicious but the prices are extremely high compare to quantity. It is a good quality food but the price is too high. Besides that the location is good, the staff is friendly and respectful but they need to be a bit more proactive.

No hot water, limited access to ocean, mild staining on bedding and towels…but I was semi prepared for all of the above based on other reviews.

Staff/service was excellent! 10/10! I was nervous being a black woman from the US traveling alone. They went above and beyond to maybe sure I was taken care of. The servers at the restaurant were great. Front desk was awesome. Everyone smiling and attentive! Food is amazing and fresh. Best ceviche and plantain chips! Eggs were good too.

they arranged a taxi from the airport for us which was great, but when we arrived at the hotel that evening everyone was already gone for the day, leaving us wandering around for 30 min desparately looking for someone to check us in. eventually the security guard called someone who came and helped us but it was a bit of a trial.

NO HOT WATER !

the property was beautiful. the rooms were very clean. the breakfast was okay. BUT THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS THAT THERE IS NO HOT WATER. This is the only reason I would NOT come back. it was so annoying to shower because of the extremely cold water. this must be fixed.

They didn’t have any wash cloths so we had to use hand towels. The air conditioning isn’t the greatest. We ordered breakfast the night before and they gave me something else instead of eggs Benedict as requested, i didn’t complain, the food was really good.

I like that it was sort of secluded, the staff was nice, Brenda was sweet and helpful. They decorated for my birthday, it was so cute. The shower was so relaxing and despite some reviews, the water was hot. The views are great, you can hear the sound of the waves.

Our TV never worked. We asked the front desk multiple times to remedy with no one coming to fix the issue. Food is a bit over priced. One evening, they ran out of adult beverages
