We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaAbove all I loved the wonderful view across the river to Wat Arun. That was the reason that I stayed at Arun Residence.

United StatesAmazing location, and the private deck is large, comfortable, and offers an absolutely incredible view of the river and the magnificent Arun Wat. Guests should be aware this is an older building, with many stairs up to the suite (3rd level), and that the suite is the only lodging room on site (This is not a typical "hotel"). The building itself hosts a nice cafe downstairs (first 2 floors), a restaurant on the 4th level, and a rooftop bar above that. Very popular at sunset. Staff very friendly and helpful.

United StatesNo 24/7 front desk, no in-room safe, small reception area , no place to store your bags if you come in before 2PM check in time. The hotel has strict policy. There is no checkin before 2PM but no place to store your bags safely. We did not want to leave our luggage unattended/exposed in the reception/shop area where anyone can walk in and take them. No elevator despite the room is on the top floor. You need to arrange for the staffs to haul your luggage up/downstairs.
Location near major attractions (Wat Arun, Wat Po, Grand Palace), beautiful view of Wat Arun in our suite, the Deck restaurant offers nice views of the river/Wat Arun at sunset

United KingdomThe accommodation is tired and could do with being a bit more cleaner . Needs some maintenance especially around the shower cubicle.
The view and the location is outstanding! The balcony is lovely and you can spend hours just watching the boats and Arun itself. It’s as impacting at night as it is during the day . The food was very tasty and well presented. That staff at the restaurant was very welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was included at a sister hotel which is 5 minutes away ( might need directions) . Very close to Grand palace and sky train

United KingdomCould have had a low light on the corner table, other than that, nothing. Great value for money.
The view is outstanding, most likely one of the best in Bangkok. Save looking till you get to your balcony! (which is all yours) On arrival you have a welcome drink and help with your luggage to your room. The view from the open top roof bar is stunning, the perfect place to watch boats and soak in the vast skyline. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the desk very helpful. Great smoothie bar and comfortable restaurant with a relaxed vibe. The location is perfect, with the Wat Pho (sleeping Buddha) just across the street. Do not let mosquitoes/river put you off, there is a breeze that normally keeps the mozzies away, I didn't get bitten once. Tucked away at the end of an alley only adds to the exotic charm of the hotel. Can thoroughly recommend for a bit of rustic glam with probably one of the best or most iconic views in the world.

United KingdomThey weren't serving breakfast when we were there - but plenty of amazing places just round the corner. The winding stairs up to the room are a challenge for anyone with mobility issues - but definitely worth it!!
The view was stunning!! The beautiful room felt traditional and yet was comfortable. The large balcony overlooking the river was the perfect place for drinks in the evening. The restaurant next to the room brought us food to the balcony. We loved it. Also perfect for sightseeing!! Everything on your doorstep.

United StatesAs above
Overall the stay was very enjoyable - it is a great location but the room lacks privacy with the main window looking at Wat Arun, having to keep the curtains drawn for privacy negated the benefit. This should be made clear to guests. Also a side lamp bulb was missing and the power outlets were too lose for a charger - and the bathroom tiling was poor finished. Also the big room downstairs with tiny table was somehow pointless too. Again no privacy if curtains are open. The location to access the temples is very good but still over priced for what it is and the lack of view without losing your privacy.

ThailandThe facilities and what the hotel has to offer does not reflect the price. The staff are rude and condescending. When we asked them where to park our motor bike for a 3 day stay, they told us we had to park at Wat Pho for 20 baht an hour. Even though no where on the hotel listing does it say there is no parking. The room has not been maintained. There are holes in the ceiling, the bathroom door is broken, the aircon does not work efficiently. The hotel charges very high rates & has not provided a room or atmosphere that reflects the price. They even make you walk 2 blocks for breakfast when the hotel room is located inside a cafe / restaurant. The views are incredible and if you are looking for a high price with no luxury then it might be a good spot for you.
The views are incredible

United StatesWhat Could Have Been Better The biggest issue with Arun Residence is the staff’s lack of hospitality and organization. A hotel should never leave guests stranded at the door, especially after confirming a late arrival. Clear communication and a proper check-in process would have made a huge difference. The attitude of the staff was another major disappointment. Instead of making guests feel welcome, we were treated like an inconvenience. A more professional and friendly approach—even just a simple greeting and willingness to help—would have improved the experience significantly. Additionally, guests should be informed upfront that this is not a traditional hotel but a single room above a restaurant. Having a designated check-in area and better guidance for finding breakfast would make things far less frustrating. Finally, basic requests, like hand soap, should not be an ordeal. Small touches, such as providing proper toiletries and responding to guests' needs with a smile, could have turned this stay into something far more enjoyable.
Avoid Arun Residence – A Complete Scam $200 a night One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Despite confirming our late arrival and even arranging airport pickup, we arrived at 10 PM to find the hotel locking its doors. The staff was confused, dismissive, and outright hostile, repeatedly telling us, "Why are you here? We are closed." After a frustrating back and forth, a kitchen staff member finally checked us in—but not before making us feel like a complete burden. Then came the next shock—this is not a real hotel. It’s just one room inside a multi-level restaurant, with no proper entrance or lobby. We had to navigate through dark, empty dining areas and up narrow stairs with our luggage. The room had a nice river view, but it was overpriced, beat-up, and absolutely not worth it. Morning arrived, and so did another disappointment—no breakfast on-site. Instead, we were told to find their sister property down the street, with no directions or assistance. When we finally found it, the food wasn’t worth the hassle, and the staff was just as rude. The restaurant is clearly focused on tourists and ferry passengers, leaving hotel guests completely ignored. Even getting basic essentials like soap was a struggle—they handed us dish soap in a bottle instead. For the price, this place is a complete scam. Arun Residence is not a hotel—it’s a glorified storage room above a restaurant. Don’t waste your money. Stay anywhere else.

United StatesThis was a completely scam!!!! First the room was in the middle of the restaurant area which closes late and was laud. Second, I paid for a window view that is actually is an internal window facing the corridor restaurant and stairs which has a window view. My curtains needed to be closed all times because random people were passing thru it (restaurant costumers). See pictures attached. Shower was too weak and we have no water running in the morning (without prior notice) There was a stairs inside the room that was not mentioned and the guard rail was so short (knee hight). Not safe at all.

CanadaOverprIced, tourist scam dump. Seldom any staff around and rude. Facility run down…barely operable shower. “Rooftop” Amararosa dining room not on top floor. The Included breakfast was in another hotel, 3 blocks away down a deadend alley with a huge, red “Do Not Enter” sign; it didn’t open until 8:30 and it featured a ketchup bottle that had been refilled so many times that the entire cap was covered in mold (I ate street food all over Thailand but didn’t touch that thing!) Final ripoff was cab to airport…front desk would only book a cab for me for a nonnegotiable 40% more than I had paid unbound and when it arrived it was NOT a licensed cab but his buddy in an old car with no gps to monitor best traffic routes.
View and absolutely nothing else.

United StatesNothing major comes to mind! There is no elevator so make sure you can climb about 3 flights of stairs to get to the suite.
We stayed in the Arun Suite (there are only 2 rooms at this "hotel") and it was by far the best one! The view of Wat Arun was amazing morning and night and worth the price alone. We were right on the river and loved watching the party boats and others go by. It was very spacious, bed was very comfy and a big shower. There is also a big balcony to hang out on and a rooftop bar and restaurant steps away. Great value! Also easy to get to Khoasan St and Chinatown as there are taxis and tuk tuks available night and day at the end of the alley from the hotel. Oh, and an amazing staff AND air conditioning!
