Typical for Istanbul, I as a foreigner found the busy street traffic quite challenging.

Loveliest host. We had good advice for all things and the rooms were cozy and quiet. Near anything you might want to visit. Also there are kitties!!

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was lovely. The added personal touch of free coffee and water was so wonderful. And the location was perfect. Close to the street life of Karakoy and an easy walk across the bridge to the more touristy area.

The only (very minor) downside: there weren’t quite enough hooks for wet towels – a few more towel racks or hooks would be helpful 🚿😉 One night the water supply didn’t work, so we could not shower, but it was professionally fixed by the next morning.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel in the heart of Karaköy! The location is simply unbeatable: just a few steps to the Galata Bridge, surrounded by great restaurants, lovely little concept stores, and everything you need for a relaxing city trip. One of the best Balık Dürüms is also just around the corner.🐟 The breakfast was an absolute highlight 🍯🧀🍅 Every morning it was lovingly served to us at the table in the small lobby – it felt more like a cozy living room than a hotel. There was a wonderful selection of Turkish cheeses, fresh and grilled vegetables, honey, jams, Nutella, cakes, and much more. Everything was fresh and prepared with care. A huge thank you to Hatice, who pampered us every single day! The rest of the staff – Emre, Özgür, and the other young receptionist (whose name we sadly didn’t catch) – were also amazing. ❤️ The entire team was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm! 💖 You can feel that they truly love what they do. Every wish was anticipated before we even spoke it out loud. Honestly, we would’ve loved to take the whole team home with us 🥹 We woke up today and missed the breakfast already so much! Our room was spotlessly clean, stylishly furnished, and very comfortable. 🧼🛌 We also really appreciated the complimentary water, tea, and coffee available at all times. All in all: a clear recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy Istanbul and feel completely at ease at the same time!

We had a fantastic experience at Fama Karaköy. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with warm smiles and helpful advice throughout our stay. We also booked the airport shuttle service through the hotel (both to and from the airport), and everything was perfectly organized and stress-free. The rooms aren’t very large, and the same goes for the bathroom, but the space is well used and features a spacious shower. One small suggestion would be to add a few more shelves or storage surfaces to make the room even more comfortable. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the breakfast was excellent—fresh, varied, and served with care. The location is another highlight: just a 10-minute walk to Galata Tower and about 30 minutes on foot to Sultanahmet. We chose to walk everywhere, but there’s also a tram that gets you to the main historical sites in just 10 minutes. The neighborhood is quiet yet lively, surrounded by shops, bars, and restaurants. It’s the perfect base for exploring Istanbul. Overall, we loved our stay at Fama Karaköy and would definitely return!

The hotel room was a bit cramped.

We went out for breakfast with friends, but enjoyed the coffee and pastry. The location was wonderful for us. We could walk to any of the places of interest. I would stay here again. The front staff were wonderful. They were very kind and helpful and engaging. It was truly a wonderful experience.

This hotel is an excellent choice in Istanbul. The location is very good, the rooms are a good size and very well maintained and clean. You are encouraged to enjoy tea, coffee, and homemade baked goods in the lobby at any time for no cost. However, above and beyond everything is how wonderful the staff are. As a solo traveler it was so nice to see friendly faces every day, to get lots of help, and to just be able to enjoy talking to some lovely people. I have never felt more at home in a hotel, I will be back.

The rooms are really really small but that's understandable given Istanbul's hotel sizes.

The staff was incredible! everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly, super helpful too. The rooms are extremely clean, they were cleaned immediately after we leave on each day. The location is the best, bus stations, ferry stations, trams are all about two minutes walk away. We felt really safe and welcomed and we would stay here again.

I highly recommend this accommodation because: - the location is truly close to all sights and the tram stop - the rooms are quiet as the hotel is in a little alley (not on a big road or a street full of bars) - the beds are comfortable - above all the staff members are very friendly and helpful Thank you for everything, even the surprise birthday cake :) We had a wonderful time in Istanbul and staying here was a plus!

This is not the fault of the hotel but I'm just adding as a warning. I opted to have a driver pick me up at Istanbul Airport which the hotel arranged, I arrived unwell with a cold, went to the designated meet area expecting a sign and driver waiting only to join a long queue of others also waiting the 5 deg morning temperature outside, only to be ferried 15 mins later as a group to the carpark, after 45 mins of being told the driver was 3 mins away and left standing alone I just opted to abandon this option and to head back to the taxi rank got a cab with a very nice taxi driver and was at the hotel in 35 mins. The hotel reception were horrified at the experience (which made my cold turn into a chest infection) so again NOT their fault, but if your expectation is that you will have a driver waiting for you, and are travelling alone, you maybe disappointed, better you just get a taxi there are plenty and they are not expensive, take credit cards and the cars perfectly fine.

What makes this hotel a good hotel is the charming and helpful staff. So a thank you to all who where on board during my stay given I spent a lot of my time in the room. The location is fine, luckily it is nestled in a quite street with no through traffic and if you like walking it is central to everything 10 mins to the Istanbul Modern, 30 mins across the Galatta Bridge to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque etc. and the port with ferries practically everywhere 5 mins away. The room is fine, practical and comfortable. The young woman that prepares breakfast delightful and welcoming as is the reception staff, these are caring people in a small hotel that meets all expectations.

I had an amazing experience at this hotel. The service was exceptional, and I want to give a special shoutout to Özgür and the lady who makes the cakes—they are simply the best! Always attentive and with such a wonderful energy that made my stay even more special. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to everyone.

Frosted glass bathroom walls so not exactly private.

The staff was exceptional, really really exceptional! The woman who cooked the breakfast and other treats most mornings put customer service on another level with her warmth, kindness and cheerfulness. The bed was one of the most comfortable ones we stayed in out of all the places we stayed in Turkey. Felt homey and comfortable.

The staff were the absolute highlight of this stay. So very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the complimentary cake (fresh, home-made, so tasty) and coffee offered in the lobby of the hotel. The room decor is modern. The room size was modest but as I was travelling alone it was perfectly adequate, particularly given the price - good value. The bathroom was a good size. Everything was immaculately clean. The bed was super comfortable. It really was a wonderful (short) stay but I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. A good location to explore from. Only a few minutes walk to Karakoy ferry terminal and Galata bridge, and approx 10 mins to Galata Tower. Short walk to Galataport. I wish I had been able to stay longer.
