Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsIf we have to mention one thing: if you need a freezer compartment the refrigerator does not have one. Then again we noticed that this is probably the standard small hotel fridge (glass door) provided throughout Taiwan
Very clean! Spacious room. Nice mattress, nice pillows (two: one semi soft, one a bit sturdy). Great shower. Cable TV. Perfect fresh air circulation. Lots of facilities. Free water, free coffee & tea, free ice cream (and sometimes popcorn). Free parking outside or underground). Vegan breakfast available and upon request they go out of their way to suit your needs.

SingaporeBeing nimble, the over zealous staff was very fast in clearing my buffet breakfast giving away my seats to another guest while I am still having breakfast. Staff did apologised. In additional, the buffet spread are very limited especially in the egg department.
Excellent service, hotel design is neat and effective. Free coffee and tea throughout the day with snack including ice cream a big draw. Staff even help to send back stuff I left in the hotel.

SingaporeThere is only 1 washer and 1 dryer in the building. Dryer is rather weak, takes about 3 cycles to fully dry all clothes for a couple.
Great location, few mins walk from Chiayi TRA, and is reasonably priced and very comfortable to stay in. Staffs are extremely helpful as well.

AustraliaNothing!
The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from Chiayi station. The staff could not be more friendly or helpful, including assisting with taxis or other transportation. The rooms, restaurant and public areas are spotlessly clean and modern. The wifi is good and there are a few Western tv channels including BBC News. The room had its own iron and ironing board, hair dryer, kettle, mini fridge and desk space. The balcony is a nice change from sealed-in rooms. The lobby has 24-hour coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits. The coffee is the nicest I had in Taiwan! The ground floor also has free soft-serve ice cream! Breakfast is pretty extensive with plenty of Western and Taiwanese options. One of the best hotels we booked in Taiwan.

SingaporeA better vending machine, or more variety in 24/7 food choices :)
This is a new property located slightly away from the main town centre (where the famous fish soup and night market are situated) but that's an easy 10-15 minute walk away. Situated near to a railway and bus station, where you can easily hop onto a bus taking you up to Alishan, if you are thinking of heading there. The new property meant that facilities are great, the bed is firm as I like it, good breakfast spread, decent gym equipment, a 7-Eleven vending machine which ate up my NT$5!, air hockey and futsal if you'd like some entertainment. Kids will enjoy free flow ice cream, chips and cookies available throughout the day. The breakfast also provides takeaway boxes if you want to pack some food for your day trips too, although the town is full of other good food. Just across the road is a lovely hotpot place to check out too.

It is nice to have the snack bar providing ice cream, cookies, milk tea, etc. free of charge. The location is good because it is near to the train station. The room is clean, quiet and tidy. It would be even better if the breakfast can provide more varieties.

SingaporeLocation was walkable from the train station but we had to walk along the road with our luggage at some parts, a little challenging with elderly and children in the rain. Would be great if hotel could provide shuttle service to and from Chiayi Rear station.
Clean, spacious and well-designed rooms and facilities. Large balcony in rooms, bathroom door functioned also as shower door. Love the design and interior decoration of the whole hotel. Comprehensive service and considerate provisions for guests. Information sheets with QR codes to Google map lists of tourist attractions and food places as well as hotel information were provided. Very family and children friendly hotel. Air Hockey and Foosball tables as well as cookies, coffee and chocolate ice cream provided for adults and children at level 1. Large lounge space to sit and chat with a mural of Chiayi in the background. Umbrellas provided at the entrance. Good breakfast spread. Very near Ge Zai Lai Turkey Rice shop and RT Mart. Free BRT shuttle bus to HSR Chiayi from bus transfer station. About 27 minutes walk to Wenhua Night Market. Would recommend this place to families with young children and elderly to stay in Chiayi.
