Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI didn't like the bed- mattress being too soft. Bathroom having too many doors and no locks. Shower door may need since water still do splash to outside shower.
The location was nice. Stayed Sat night until Sun. Was able to park right in front of the hotel since street parking on Sunday was able. The rooms were better than i thought. It's just that the bathroom was little too big for the room and too many doors for entering bathroom. No locks was bad. The showers were amazing but not having door kind of got me restrained from washing because the waters splashing on the floor. Another thing was the BED. I had very hard time sleeping. Bed was too soft and bad mattress. With the price of room I paid, I thought it could do better mattresses.

United KingdomLacked lighting but really a very minor issue
Fantastic room with views over the public library, empire state and Bryant park. We stayed as a family of 4 and had the best time in the 2-bedroom suite. The staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We stayed for 1 week and could have stayed longer. Definitely recommend.

United States of AmericaHousekeeping kept “missing” things — no clean glasses, didn’t pick up used glasses, robes without ties, etc. Pillows seemed uncomfortable. Clearly, a personal opinion.
Great gym. Excellent restaurant. Nice front-desk staff. Very clean rooms.

United KingdomWe got a room with the city view, but the window was horribly stained and obstructed that said view. To make it even worse the curtain in our room did not go up, so we could not enjoy any view. The hotel is located in the center of NYC and there was a lot of noise at night, it was hard to fall asleep, it was ok for a few nights stay but might not be ideal for someone who stays longer. Also they did not have a coffee machine or even tea in the room, I had to call to ask for a kettle, which came without mugs or tea bags, this is cheap for a hotel like that.
The location is great, staff was very friendly and approachable. I requested a small compliment to celebrate my husband's birthday, and the staff went above and beyond. It was a very nice touch to our arrival :). The room itself was spacious, which was unexpected in NYC. All amenities looked and felt clean.

Location fine. Expected Library view room but initially got an overrated back building room I did not like. After being able to secure a library view things got better. Bed is great. Loved the bar-service.

CanadaI think the included snacks could maybe include something a bit ‘healthy’ I didn’t bring slippers thinking they would be provided and was disappointed they were not. Luggage ‘trays’ would be helpful. There is a nice alcove of space between the hanging closet and the fridge/safe that would accommodate it well. I remember my first visit to the Andaz included Bigelow Chemists products including foot salts to use in the amazing foot bath. It would be nice to bring that back. One thing you do in NYC is walk-a soothing foot bath gets your feet ready for the next day!!

Indonesiathe furnishing was too sparse for my taste... feels like a dormitary room. Lacking personality and warmth didn't like the doorless idea of a bathroom. I think some privacy would still be good the faucet in the kitchen sink didn't work, couldn't wash my dishes at all

United Arab EmiratesLooks like they charge $250 as a smoking penalty (which was not discussed at all when we checked in - or mentioned anywhere in the room). The whole reason why we took the balcony was for this purpose. Abs the way the team handled it was terrible, no curtesy call, and when I asked them about it they were very blunt and rude with no understanding or listening skills for what I had to say, for that reason I won’t be going back.
Room was spacious - big balcony we paid for, and perfect location in NYC.
