Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

My room entrance was on the side facing the sexy book store, and it felt a little desolate and secluded as at the time I checked in there were no other guests on that side. As a solo female traveler I parked in front where I felt a little more visible going to and from my car. Overall I felt safe though.
I love that the balcony was accessible and faced the courtyard, which was pleasant. It was nice to sit out there and enjoy the weather. The bed and room were very comfy and perfect for the overnight stay. The property owner listened to my feedback at checkout and was very pleasant.

The area wasn’t the best but you were close to all the major food restaurants.

TV was small. Breakfast was limited. Ice machine was temperamental (maybe have one on each side of building?). Photo of front is a bit misleading. Motel looks straight at highway, can't see much of the mountains. Bathroom was small!!
Location was great...lots of nearby restaurants and close to the biltmore. Room was mostly clean. Staff was friendly. Linens were clean and beds were comfy. It was nice to have a balcony!

The rooms are quite small. I don’t know that I would recommend it for families.
The staff were all very nice, and it was nice and clean! The location is also great.

No coffee pot in the room. The bathroom was tiny. It wasn’t as updated as the pictures appeared. It was hard to tell if the shower was stained or a little dirty. The privacy curtain left a little gap and the bed was right next to it so I had to put my luggage again the curtain to ensure it was closed all the way (for my comfort).
Location was great, staff was pleasant, the room was quiet and comfortable.

As much as we thought the outdoor area was cute. At 330 in the morning a few people went out there to smoke. It was really really loud. It's just the way the hotel is shaped and everything echoes. Thankfully it was to cold they didn't stay out there very long but definitely noticed that part.
We enjoyed the location and the outdoor area is cute. We also had a balcony but it was way to cold to enjoy.

Lingering humidity smell in bathroom . I am very sensitive/ allergic to that kind of smell, had to take allergy medication. But other than that, no problem.
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Good internet TV. Breakfast was as other stated: microwave sausage biscuits, bagels, cereals…. Coffee was delicious. Stayed several nights, asked for no cleaning during our stay. Got clean towels when asked.

It's a little bit far away from town. Rooms nearby the road are a bit noisy. Airconditioning in the room was a bit loud.
Friendly service, and well laid out room. Pretty good price considering the average cost of rooms in Asheville. Breakfast was really good.

My only minor complaint would be that the television was kind of small
The room is very spacious and clean. Everything I needed for my trip was present in the room. Great location and adequate parking. There were plenty of dining options and a grocery store across the street.

The motel is located on a busy road that is noisy. Good news!! Our room was very quiet! When we asked about the advertised local craft beers, the clerk informed us the motel had lost its liquor license but was working on getting it back.
The Beaucatcher is a beautifully renovated motel. Our room was very clean and well decorated with updated furnishings and carpet. The courtyard is lovely at night with the seating area surrounded by lights.
