Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe only downside was that they only had a queen bed available which was a little small for my wife and I.
The room was spotless, the location was perfect for those wanting to be in the middle of our country’s history. The staff were great! Sandra at breakfast was friendly and helpful with the Liberty Bell Waffle makers.

United StatesIt would be nice if the rooms were a little bigger, but they are well designed to make use of the space.
Two blocks from independence hall in a historical neighborhood with lots of good restaurants.

United KingdomStorage for our clothes. The wardrobe only had a small full length section. As we were in the States for 3 weeks, we had more clothing with us than we could hang which was a little bit disappointing. Perhaps most guests are only staying for a couple of days.

United StatesOnly wish they had a microwave in each room for my leftovers but no biggie, just means I had to go enjoy a big fat slice of pizza from down the road from this cute pizzeria that you can buy by the slice!! Think it was only like 2 doors down from the hotel. Then hop right next door to the gelato shop!
Loved that it was a historic venue! Right in the heart of colonial Philly. I was only a 5+ walk from the liberty bell! Maybe a smidge longer if you walk slow or have kiddos, but no more than 10 minutes! But expect stops along the way as there is plenty to see in regards to colonial style buildings etc. It is across the street from the museum of the American revolutionary. Everything I wanted to see was less than a 10 minute walk away! The gelato shop a couple doors down was very good, I recommend the pistachio (but I wouldn’t bother with their tiramisu - a smidge dry). Very cute rooms, incredibly high ceilings so even though it was a smaller room - it still felt big! For a solo traveler this was perfect. Very peaceful. They also had cookies in the afternoon and a coffee/tea/cocoa packet station for 24/7 hot drinks in the lobby. The included breakfast was great! They even had a waffle iron with the liberty bell inside it! The staff were all kind and helpful. I used their luggage hold as I arrived a few hours early at the hotel, this was a helpful thing to do! I would recommend this place! I also felt it was affordable for being right in the heart of colonial Philly with so much of the things I wanted to see less than 10 minutes away!!

United StatesThe room is small and no drawer or closet. But I do not mind it at all for this cute hotel.
We walked 3 blocks to the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and visitor center. The Museum of the American Revolution is right across the street. Fantastic museum. The hotel has a tea time 4:00-6:00PM. You can relax with coffee, tea, and cookies. My senior family member needed a shower bench. Their staff quickly delivered it to our room. I really appreciate their thoughtful attention. The breakfast was great! Yogurt, fruits, oatmeal, scramble eggs, etc. We had a dinner at a restaurant nearby called Society Hill Hotel. They had a fantastic roast port sandwich and good desserts! I want to come back to this hotel and the restaurant again!

South AfricaThe quaint charm of the hotel immediately relaxes you as you walk in. The location is real good , almost in between everything and major Philly historic attractions. The staff are exemplary, courteous , concerned and warm hearted and super fkrcmxible. The rooms are rightly comfortable for good night's rest after those long tiring days. And the all day coffee and afternoon cookies makes the stay real fun. A highly recommended hotel to stay at.

TurkeyThe room for two persons was small, so we felt cramped. The bed and the bathroom were also small. You should check the size of the room before you book. Maybe I have chosen the wrong room, but that was the affordable one for us.
The location is fantastic. You can visit many attractions by just walking. The wifi is good. The breakfast is not excellent, but beyond average. I couldn't feel the historicity much, but the whole district is historical; you're embedded in it. There are many drinking and eating places around the hotel. The staff was very friendly.

United StatesIt was a bit inconvenient that the ice machine and soda snacks and sundry were in one location but this is a smaller property so it wasn’t too bad. I can see the drop off/unloading area being a problem if the hotel experiences high traffic. I could tell it was renovated by certain edges of the bathroom but most people wouldn’t notice. Window to other rooms and alley may bother folks but I was just there to sleep and regroup. The building is weirdly warm in the hallways and elevator but the rooms are good.
All the staff I came in contact with were so nice and friendly. I wish I wasn’t in town for a concert because then I would’ve have time to explore the neighborhood. It was chill but lively with many different restaurants around. Was on a relatively quiet and non-busy street. Parking was secure with helpful attendants, and not too far of a walk. I have hypermobility spectrum disorder so I would’ve been put out by a long walk. Breakfast goes until 10am which is great if you’re a late sleeper. Drop off/loading in front of the hotel was always available to me. Breakfast was a tier above a boring continental breakfast. The room had such high ceilings so the room being a more pragmatic size didn’t make me feel claustrophobic. Blackout curtains at tricky because if you oversleep your alarm you might wake up closer to noon lol I also liked the small size of the room since I was solo and the bathroom was roomy.
