Cutlery was not provided. For the price and for having a kitchen I didn’t appreciate the nickle and dime approach of charging extra for utensils and something to cook with. The expectation when there is a kitchen is there are also plates and forks.

We did not have any utensils, pots or pans to cook. So make sure you bring your own. Bring your own beach gear.

Loved how close we are to the beach and we walked to downtown. The rooms were bigger than expected. Liked the fact we had our own parking spots.

Have no AC. Alarm clock went off at midnight. Bed can be more comfortable. Sometimes can hear neighbors making noises and cars driving by.

Convenient location: Close to the beach and the village. Beach and ocean view. Ocean waves are natural soothing white noise. Separate house from others. Staff very helpful.

Due to a pipe failure they had to shut off water to most of the hotel, but we were offered another room. Also, there's no free parking, but it's only $15/day so not a big deal.

The Venetian is in a perfect spot- it's right on the beach and many of the rooms have balconies with a view of the water. Kitchenettes with a coffee maker and some cups and supplies let us have a pre-breakfast coffee (nice for those cold mornings). We went in the off-season (November), and Capitola is a magical place to stay when the summer crowds are gone.

Booked 2 units with 2 beds each. They were not close together, and one unit had sofa bed, not a real bed.

There were some changes. They implemented a parking fee per night. The room was missing an adequate garbage can in the kitchenette, was also missing the recycling can, and it used to have a toaster. The maid service wasn't scheduled, despite the front desk calling to ask if services were needed. The last night of our stay, the room next door seemed to be having open tryouts for fight club. There was loud banging on the walls, a woman crying, and men talking loudly for quite awhile. Calls to the front desk went unanswered. We've been going annually for our anniversary, but all things considered we may try someplace else in the future. :(

There was nothing in the description of the room amenities that said the kitchen was not equipped. There were no utensils, no pans. A maintenance man walked in our apartment without knocking or anything. Not good!

We had to change our dinner plans because we were required to check in before 9pm, and the clerk was gone "on break" at 8pm when we got there. Never have experienced an employee break being a higher priority than customer service, but that is apparently the top priority at the Capitola Venetian, not the guests. Service was perfunctory, not gracious, and there are not amenities to speak of, no breakfast or features, just a room near the sand.

Location right on the beach was as advertised. Able to walk on the beach in the moonlight without driving anywhere! Room was spacious and had kitchen facilities, and temperature was good, easy to sleep.

There is no view of the ocean or anything really. It is quite loud but I guess this is to be expected during a summer weekend night. People yelling and screaming walking past the rooms headed to bars and dinner.

I’ve always wanted to stay here at the cute colored hotel. Parking is available for additional cost and worth it being here on a weekend in the summer. Walking distance to all things, restaurants and shops. Spacious room and very clean. Early check in available for an additional cost. Beach steps from room door.

Very noisy, not only from outside activities but from the creaky floor from room above my own. Also, various plumbing or drain noises that constantly drowned out any prospect of hearing the waves even with the window open.

Location was ideal for hanging out at the beach or esplanade. The room was spacious with functioning microwave and refridgerator, and coffee was provided. Most importantly, the room came with a parking space which was essential given the crowd that was visiting during my stay.

It would have been nice to have an actual coffee maker instead of a mini, and the coffee they provided was terrible. Thankfully there are coffee shops just around the corner.

The location was great, the condo was charming. There were lots of nearby shops and restaurants.
