Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesUnfortunately, our room came with swarms of small black Everglades mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are nothing unusual for the Everglades, but we expected that the hotel would have had mosquito repellent plug-ins in the rooms. Bring your own. We had neighbors who decided to hold a party right outside our door-- till 5am. No staff at this motel to call about the situation, and we weren’t about to confront them. Glad we had ear plugs.
My husband and I stayed one night at the Everglades City Motel earlier this month. Check in is at the Ivey House Hotel, just down the street. Room 17 was a large, clean, corner room with a back door, two comfortable queen size beds, good linens, a nicely renovated bathroom (but a slow-draining sink), large, soft towels, a sofa, and a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator and a microwave. We recommend Island Café for breakfast, just next door.

United StatesThe bed was uncomfortable, and the walls were thin and could hear conversations in the adjacent rooms.
Very spacious room, clean and newly renovated.

New ZealandFor light sleepers the AC is very loud, definitely bring earplugs.
Great communication and understanding from staff - we had a late check in and an early check out and they were really helpful. Room had everything you need.

PortugalMost likely not their fault, but mosquitos, A LOT. Just from the car to the door got over 20 bites. A lot of dead insects on the floor. Maybe due to some poison used to kill them maybe poor cleaning. June is through in the Everglades. Expensive for what you get.
Comfortable and spacious room

United StatesMy husband and I are 72, and 67 years of age. We stayed in Room 22. As you enter, I tripped going in . The floor is not level, and there is a pretty big step up. PAINT YELLOW for us old people to notice the big step.
We were actually given a key early, because of the events we had scheduled. This was very helpful, and took off a lot of stress.

United StatesWould love hooks to hang towels on in the bathroom. Refrigerator was a little noisy but we weren't using it so just unplugged it.

United KingdomAccommodation could do with a little tlc but other than that a good place to stay, wouldn't put me off a return visit, maybe needs more storage in the bedrooms, no drawers in there, only hangers. Strangely the only mirror in the accommodation was in the bathroom, could be an issue for groups when people are showering and getting ready to go out.
Great base for visiting the Everglades and surrounding area. Everglades City was pretty quiet when we visited....although we were told it was high season 😁. Good self catering facilities, easy to walk to local shops for supplies and nearby restaurants did fantastic food and drink. Very happily return, large rooms

United StatesThe only thing I saw that I would've fixed before renting out the room was the paint job in the bathroom was not finished. Other than that, it was fine.
The room was clean and quiet. The room had everything we needed. It being on the ground level is a manager reason for us to return to this location.

United KingdomAlthough we booked a disability accessible room, for which the bathroom was great, unfortunately the gap between the bed and furniture was too narrow to push a wheelchair through to the bathroom. My wife has to get out of the chair, for me to collapse it and go through the gap, before getting back into it to access the bathroom.
Nice location. Good restaurant and cafe recommendations from the receptionist.

United StatesParking for room in the corner (#18) was tight and tricky. The unused connecting room doors were paper thin and one could hear guests in the other room. I thought the guy was going to cough up a lung! Then the previous night the guest kept fiddling with the door to the connecting rooms.
Good location, easy to find, comfortable bed, large room, clean.
