The television in our room was oddly placed and awkward to use from the bed. It was pretty far away and I didn't want to turn it up loud in case it bothered other guests.

Jesse and Jason were both extremely friendly and helpful. Beautiful yard and patio. On site food truck was very tasty! Very easy drive to nearby reservoir for swimming or fishing.

Jessie the butler is kind and attentive. I appreciate his eagerness to provide excellent customer service. He is also a god loving man and it shows. Sebastian is the 19 year old pup and he likes bacon. Room 15 is on the 3rd floor and it was rich with history and energy. The food truck right outside was delicious and fancy. I got the Mac and cheese burger on a brioche bun with shoe string fries. The hubby got that blue burger and it was 10/10. We love this place and are bringing our kids back this month. Breakfast was so goooood.

Central air was great in the hallways but didn't make it into our room. Somehow the house is in a neighborhood the required the front door to be locked all hours of the day. Check in was a little awkward.

Breakfast was fabulous. Although they did forget we were vegetarians, but the food was top notch. The house and the antiques are wonderful. The staff is friendly. We felt welcomed.

The beds are terrible! This was our second time, and we were hoping for a better one, but since this is our second time, it looks like there are all like that. However, we probably will come back and take a Tylenol!

The location is beautiful, the house itself is a monument, it is incredibly well decorated, you’re transported in the mid-18th century, the personnel is great and very welcoming. We loved the cheese and wine hour and breakfast was plenty and included. Parking was also easy.

The bed was very uncomfortable unfortunately, pillows were very flat and the room had no AC. So it did get uncomfortably hot. We did spend evenings in our room and the only place to sit was the bed, so we did get sore after so long

We loved the homely feeling to this place, it was welcoming and perfect location for our plans.

Maybe I wasn’t that ready to step back into the history .. I really missed the modern comforts I take for granted & I wouldnt want to go back there . There was no coffee in the rooms , no tv, no toiletries in the bathroom, there were stains on the staircase that looked like bloodstains (although we were told it’s plum juice stains) . The staff didn’t seem motivated to make guests happy . The bed height was so high .. it made it hard to climb up the bed. I paid twice the price of a normal modern hotel and didn’t find value for what I paid.

    Breakfast was good.

While food tasted amazing, portions could be a little bigger. That's our only complaint and it's not a deal breaker.

Staff was very helpful and friendly especially Jason the owner. He gave us dinner recommendations for dinner and historical places to see which was perfect for us history buffs. The place is like stepping back in time and cozy. Breakfast was good. We enjoyed our stay and are going back soon.

I loved everything about the American River Inn.

The property is an old Victorian mansion, and is gorgeous. The decor is really nice throughout. You feel transported to the past when you step through the door. The proprietor is very nice, and very attentive to his guests. The breakfast that was provided was fantastic. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

The inn keepers were wonderful and accommodating. The handmade breakfast was fantastic! Really fun to mingle with other guests with wine and charcuterie at night before going out for dinner. The local Mexican food restaurant next door was fabulous! I highly recommend this bed and breakfast and I look forward to staying again!
