The internet could be better in terms of reliability.

This hotel is currently being renovated. The updated rooms are great, the rooms still in progress are what you would expect from an older hotel. Regardless, you can't beat the price for a historic hotel stay! The breakfast is a home cooked meal, it was fantastic. The internet is spotty and unreliable. But the location is centered in Historic Downtown Sonora, which is great for walkable food and shopping options.

    WALKWAYS were a little rough.

The room was bigger and nicer than expected. The manager set out breakfast a little early since we we needed to leave early. No to go cups was a slight problem. Had to stop at a gas station for coffee. The bed wS very comfortable, I don't remember falling asleep.

The entire place needs some TLC. We really wanted to use the huge pool, but it was so dirty. We never saw anyone clean it. Our bathroom wasn't properly deep cleaned. We found some hairs that weren't ours. We wished the room had a fridge at least. The TV wasn't working but we didn't need to use it.

We love old buildings, so we found this place unique in terms of layout and structure. Lots of parking, easy key drop at any time, and a lovely breakfast room with lots of food options. They had a public microwave and ice machine for guests to use, which was really nice. The rooms have heating and air conditioning, which is great! The staff was very friendly. The location is safe and near downtown, and some great bar/ restaurant walking distance.

The young person who checked me in did not get off the phone during my entire check in time while I was in the lobby. Consequently they were unable to tell me about breakfast, where the room is, etc. In fact, she didn’t address me at all, except to put her hand out for the credit card and identification. A real turn off. Luckily I had stayed here recently, so knew the layout. Customer service is really important, and there really isn’t any reason for a private phone call to be more important during check in, than your guests.

I appreciate the location and it’s very centrally located for downtown Sonora

There is parking behind the hotel with easy access to third-story rooms, but it’s up a STEEP drive. Rooms (and hotel itself) are charmingly decorated but a bit frayed around the edges. Communication difficulties with staff.

This is a quirky, kind of bohemian place that is definitely NOT for the mobility-impaired. Excellent breakfast. Pool looked nice. Off-street gravel parking lot to right of hotel (opposite office).

Check in could have been better. Had the wake the night manager (it was late). Would have been better to have a key in the envelope or a key code on door.

Breakfast was the best part. The food was all home made (baked eggs, brown bread). Even the bread and jelly were better quality than most hotels

Growing up in this town and spending time at this property years ago, it seems really run down. The shower head was broken in our room, and whoever stayed in my room prior (or maybe housekeeping?) has thrown out soap, shampoo and conditioner bottles and trash out of the bathroom window onto the roof. We opted to go out for breakfast after seeing things float around in the water container and the buffet was extremely bare. We loved the pool, but really hated that staff sits out there every morning smoking and leaving their cigarette butts in the planter (which really stinks)!!! I fixed the shower head- and was hoping to explain this to staff, but when I went to check out- there was no one at the front desk. I waited for a moment, but left once I heard some people arguing. I know the history behind this place- so it was sad to see what it’s become. Loved the pool- but it needs an enormous upgrade and cleaning.

Great location and has wonderful charm. Absolutely love the pool and the beds were incredibly comfortable.
