Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandNo carpark option except valet given the Padres games that were happening next door. Made it quite expensive. Room was small for the price.
Amazing location. Starbucks next door was good in the morning. The pool party meant the kids couldn't use the pool during the day but it was good being able to use the Hilton nearby for a swim.

United StatesCheck-In staff was not as professional and gave misinformation about the parking and that the elevators needing your room card to be scanned in the elevator in order to use the elevator. Ask the valet staff about the self park parking garage around the corner is much cheaper.
Location was very convenient for an Angels game (4 min walk) and great location to at the end of the Gaslamp District. We just parked the. And and walk everywhere. (15-18 min) walk to Seaport Village.

United StatesThere was mold in the shower. Also there is a hidden "service fee" from the hotel (similar to a resort fee in Las vegas I guess). This service fee was not shown until after booking. This cost me an extra $80. Parking is an extra 65 per night. You can self park right next to the hotel on K street for much cheaper.
The bed is comfy. On the 10th floor I had a nice bay view.

United StatesThe hotel has a pool party on Saturdays, which we knew about so that wasn't the issue. I didn't like how they don't offer in&outs for guests. What if I need a breather for a bit, or want to change outfits or rather use my bathroom than the crowded mess restroom at the pool? At least they had their own enrty for guests and comp tickets. The hot tub was not working, so that was a bummer. I would have wanted to go take a dip after the party was over. They should inform guests about that prior to check-in. There are no water refill stations located on the floors (other than the gym). At check-out the valet was clearly understaffed. People were waiting for about 20-30 mins to get their car. We were almost late for our brunch reservation. The gentlemen were nice and I know it's not their fault...they are doing their best to meet the demands, but the hotel should keep this in mind. Maybe I wouldn't mind waiting 30 mins if valet wasn't $65 for one night. I'll probably not stay here again...though it does make you feel young...lol.
Hard Rock continues to live up to his name. It's fun and flashy on the outside and the rooms are comfty. The check-in process was easy and the staff was friendly. I like that they have the bell hop service for your bags and they bring them up after check-in for you. Our room was ready before the original check-in time, so that was nice. There is a Starbucks just right outside and a bar with a good happy hour across the street. The trolley is just right outside too...so super easy to get to other hotspots because Gaslamp isn't all that great.

United StatesI was under the impression that the couch was a pull out couch, and it was not. My friend sleeping on the couch was not comfortable at all. There were also staples sticking out of the rug on the edge of the rug where it met the tile floor.
The room was very clean, and the king bed was very comfortable. I also loved the location, right next to all the good clubs downtown.
