Breakfast was exceptional; we each ordered the 2 egg special, and truly it was more like a 4 egg special. The fingerling potatoes and maple sausage were perfect New England accompaniments. And who doesn't love a side of hot buttered raisins toast?!

Wish it had a king size bed. The Queen is a little smaller than we're used to, but it was comfortable.

Great location in the center of Salem. Once we parked in their free parking lot we didn't have to drive again until it was time to leave. It was fun walking everywhere we wanted to go!

Not sure this is a dislike but it felt like someone sat on the side of my bed when I was trying to go to sleep. When I looked back behind me to see if what hubby wanted, he was fast asleep in the other queen bed...Just a little "hmmm?" that made the stay interesting!

We arrived 2 hours early and although we didn't expect to be able to check in that early (we wanted to know if we could use the parking lot) they were able to accomodate us and let us have our room early and provided the parking hang tag so we could use the lot. Very gracious and accomodating! Comfy bed on the 6th floor - quiet and we slept really well.

We loved how central it was, and how traditional it was. Was very clean and the bedding was luxurious. Staff were friendly and attentive.

I was very satisfied with the stay.

Everything in the rooms felt clean and fresh even though it's historic. The lobby had a musty smell, so I wondered if the rooms would, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very helpful and quick to follow-through on requests. Free parking is a plus!

We got in early. The rooms were ready. I was on a different floor than my daughters so they asked if I wanted the same floor. We had a late dinner which was very good. All the staff were very friendly. In fact, we were walking to The House of the Seven Gables and the lady who checked us in,Lori I think, called out to us to say hello.

The bathroom was really small and hard to maneuver around, even though I was by myself and of average build.

This is a minor thing but there was no fan in the shower so it does get quite steamy in there.

Centrally located and within walking distance of the wharf. We did a sunset sail and it was magnificent.

Vending machine were broke and took our money and the drink vending machine gave us a hot ginger ale when we pressed the water button.

We loved that you could park for free while staying at the hotel and walk around Salem. The staff was friendly and helpful with questions. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge before dinner. Dinner at the restaurant was fantastic and breakfast was amazing. The food was great and the service was friendly. We had a lovely stay.

The room was pretty small and could have done with a repaint but otherwise this place is splendid

This is a fabulous old hotel in the very heart of Salem with all of the old world charm you would expect and a fantastic restaurant and bar. Staff were all super friendly and we met other guests in the bar and had a really fun and socialble time.
