The room we got when we first arrived was not renovated, old, needed repairs and was uncomfortable. It was awful. After I went to the staff about how it didn't look like what I saw online and was very disappointed they stepped up and moved us to a much nicer renovated room.

Management and a couple of staff members went out of their way to fix this issue and make us happy. Mgt even compted our parking for the 2 days.

Regular suites are outdated. The cove is really busy from morning until night so you hear a lot of traffic.

The location is great. No need to drive, restaurants are in walking distance and La Jolla cove is directly across the street.

The pool is extremely outdated and our keys did not work to get in.We wasted time going back and forth to get a working key. The café downstairs was dissapointng.The chairs outside on the patio had bird poop on them as well as the floor. Also, the room i booked showed a balcony and ocean view in the picture. That is NOT what we got. Very dissapointing.

The room was remodeled and clean. The beds were very comfortable. I appreciate how quiet the proper was.

The property from what I could see looked tired and run down and more like a 2-star property. Exception was the rooftop. The intention for our stay was hopefully to suggest to guests for our upcoming wedding to stay here but we changed our minds after our stay.

The walk up to our room was challenging to say the least. We counted 84 steps from the lobby to our room and these were some steep steps. There was no elevator access to our room.

The view was incredible. We loved that we had a terrace to sit on and enjoy the ocean view. The bed was very comfortable. We were happy to have a small kitchenette.

chairs on deck were so uncomfortable we could not sit on them without a bed pillow. Rest of building is run down and dilapidated. Coffee cafe was not good and employee rude and annoyed.

Remodeled portion of building is nice and rooms were clean. Great sheets, nice shower/bath. Amazing view of ocean.

Room features not great. Shower pressure & location ridiculous. Lighting not good. Light in closet kept blinking on & off at night. Basin light had motion detect - could not defeat at night -& when on barely adequate. Room light not enough. Bed too hard & pillows not supportive.

The room was not very clean, the bedding and towels were very nice and clean...the floor was filthy, bathroom and bedroom. My socks were ruined. We wore our shoes in the room. I'm probably most sad that Booking.com shows you renovated rooms and really wasn't honest about the room we were Going to be staying in. I was glad that Luke offered us an upgrade before they ran out of the good rooms. Neighbors next to us were up till 3 in the morning. So the sleep situation was not great.

Luke the receptionist was a nice polite helpful person. Before we completed our check in he asked if I wanted a upgrade for more $ because Booking.com only shows the building on the website with the renovations. The Sea Lions were amazing

The hotel was nice. The only issue I had was when I went to take a shower. The bottle of body wash was empty, so I used the bar soap instead. please inspect the bottles and make sure they are full before your guest arrive.

The pillows are awful. I don’t think the hot tub should close at 10:00. I think with all the weddings that happen you should invest in something else for families to like not close the libraries, hot tub etc.. the main reason people that stay is for the roof top. The wedding parties get to enjoy themselves and we go to bed with awful pillows. The coffee area with fire pits even closes early.

I love the renovated side and the view from the balcony.

I got the budget room they had and so I got my monies worth, if my wife was with me I would have upgraded my room. It seems they charged me more than I paid hotel.com. I’ll find out for sure when I get my deposit back

It is getting more expensive by the year, so it's harder for families like mine to afford it. I'd rather it not go too upscale and price out folks like us. Also, there were two nights with rooftop parties that were extremely loud. Turn down the volume, as we felt we were right next to the speakers. Bring back free breakfast, which had been a staple for many years.

I have stayed at the Suites for years and always enjoy it. The location, staff, rooms, value, are all positives.

The original price I was quoted was up by $100.00 feels like a little bate and switch. It's time we actually get 24 hour stays for the price we're paying these days
