The room was outdated, and not as pictured or stated on line. We booked a 2 room Suite with a balcony for a wedding and to take photos. Thank goodness for an amazing, miracle working photographer!

    The location was incredible.

Facility was old and showing the affects of ocean front weather, only to be expected. Inside was clean but in need of repairs and updating. For me personally was great, Im just not that picky, value the outside attractions more than the inside.

Great location at least for me. Right on LaJolla cove, heard the sea lions all hours, very short walk to see them. Limited traffic, close walk to restaurants and bars

A very loud wedding was ongoing until 10pm. The room has no AC so we needed our windows open which left the music blaring into our room.

The location is the best thing about this property. The room was very clean.

The location is great and the young lady at the front desk is fantastic! We’ve stayed their twice and both times it was the same young lady at the front desk. Unfortunately I don’t remember her name but both times her hair was colored either green o purple. She is true asset to the hotel…I watched or go above and beyond for each guest.

Half of the hotel is renovated, the other half is not. From the pictures it looked like there would be a rooftop restraint or bar but it was just a patio. Would have liked to enjoy the view up there food or a cocktail. The pool is not updated.

    Great location, everything was clean.

Not having a kitchen in the apartment. We had quite a few food items to use and our room change meant we didn't have a kitchen. A microwave would have been sufficient with a few bowls and cutlery. Paying for parking shouldn't be necessary if you are staying at an accomodation.

The location was awesome The 2 bedroom new apartment was a great size and the bathrooms were immaculate. Loved the coffee machine and coffee that was supplied. Staff were lovely and the cafe's downstairs coffee was sooo nice too. Having a pool and hot tub was a welcome bonus.

Depending on where your room is parking for us was atrocious. It’s not really managed or patrolled. We paid for parking & had very limited parking spots for our rooms & had issues almost every morning and evening with ppl double parking leaving no open spots for other guests. Took over an hour to get ppl to move or park appropriately so we could park in a spot without being hit or blocking someone else in. A few things could use an upgrade as knobs and buttons were missing from some of the appliances in our room, making them hard to use & the shower heads could also use an upgrade. My husband and I are both quite tall and the shower heads only came to our shoulders so it made washing hair a little difficult.

I like the area and location. Staff was very helpful when needed.

The sensored lights are cool in a way, but when you wake up in middle of night to use bathroom, all lights turn on and wake up everyone else. Bathroom is nice, but little tight.

Beds so comfy, high quality bedding! Love the roof top area. Very clean feel.

Well.... I went the wrong time of year, it was pupping season for the sealions so they were very loud outside our room. Super awesome for the first couple days. They did a fire alarm test while we were there and my husband and I woke up violently one morning. Then the last thing I was disappointed about was they didn't have any options for food, we had to leave the hotel everyday to eat.

The room was beautiful. The view was amazing. The people were very friendly and helpful. I loved that we had parking for just the guest. The beds were very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this room to anyone.

The older part of the hotel (where we stayed) is shabby and in need of renovation, and a/c units on balconies might be an issue, but you get what you pay for!

View was great from 4th floor room overlooking the park and the ocean. It is literally right across the street from the iconic La Jolla Cove, with sunsets and sea lions to watch and sand to sit on and places to snorkel. Rooftop terrace had an even better view (as good as any in La Jolla,, I would say) and was a great place to have drinks while watching the sunset. (We were fortunate that almost no one else was using it, and we had some couches right on the sunset edge all to ourselves on many nights. It seemed to be a well kept secret except for one night when it was used for a reception.) View from room balcony on 4th (top) floor was very nice although the balcony itself was a little cramped (room for 2 chairs) and had an a/c compressor on it, which fortunately did not turn on. All of the rooms in this part of the hotel have these compressors on their balconies, and it is possible you could hear other peoples' units on a hot day. (If so, that might be a downer.) It is good to have a room on the middle or south end of the floor so as to overlook more of the grass in the park, and top floor is good for being above the street. Swimming pool on back side was also a nice amenity. We were in the older part of the hotel, which is shabby and undergoing renovation, but the price was more affordable for us (about $150 less per night than rooms in the new section--the "Pines"). The Peacock Cafe on ground level is also a nice place to get coffee in the morning. Overall it was a very good base of operations for us over 9 days.
