Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesRestaurants were quite a drive. I knew there was nothing on premises when I booked. It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in the room and perhaps a microwave downstairs in the common area.
The property was serene, quiet and isolated. I researched the history which probably needs to be shouted about a bit more. As an example this property has been in the same family since King George III provided the family a land grant.

United StatesFor our needs, we like a small fridge and microwave or tea kettle in our room. These rooms don't have that sort of amenities but the staff was very helpful in allowing us to use the kitchen fridge and tea kettle. Our stay was quiet but that's likely because there were only a few other guests. As an old inn, there is a lot of creaking in the halls and on the stairs. If the inn were full, I imagine it being much noisier. You might keep this in mind. And we were on the 3rd floor. If you have limited mobility, for sure you must request the first floor, although you still have to up one flight.
As an old, 19th Century summer inn, it's quaint and you can certainly feel the weight of history. Charming comes to mind. Our room was small but cozy with a completely updated bathroom. The wrap around front and side porches were a great place to catch the morning and afternoon light. Lovely rocking chairs in which to settle in with your morning coffee or favorite afternoon beverage. It's surrounded by a grassy lawn that slopes down to the bay.

United StatesIt was a clean, nice room all in all. But for the price, way more than it should have been, given there was no breakfast, coffee not until after 7, and just very weak Folgers type coffee; there was no table or space in bathroom to put toiletries; and the hallway light was on all night and piercingly bright through the crack in our door. For the price of this place, we could easily have gotten a place with more amenities.
There was no breakfast.

United StatesLoved the property and morning on the porch. Beautiful. Switch sections.
Only drawback was no breakfast. Only served coffee. Should have had at least basics (bagels, bananas, baked goods). Would not have required a full kitchen. Especially considering remoteness of the property.

United StatesFor a place that looks like a bed and breakfast and advertises as one and is charging $588 for a 2 night stay, it should be serving it. Upon arrival when we asked where the breakfast was and what the hours were, we were informed by a less than enthusiastic host , and I quote, “ oh, we don’t have a cook right now so you can help yourself to tea and coffee when ever you like and sometimes she puts out some fruit”. In a place this rural and far from restaurants, I think breakfast should be available. It doesn’t take a cook or chef to put out pastry, breads, butter, jams, cereals, and a toaster and microwave !
There was no breakfast! And there was no elevator and nobody offered to assist with carrying bags up to the third floor! We are 73 years old and in good health but I have sisters my age who would never have been able to do those stairs. Your information on the website to register gave no indication to warn people of this issue. Also we were lucky ,our room had A/C, but I was told the 2nd floor did not and it was 88degrees the day we arrived!

United StatesThe mattress “tacos”, is NOT sufficiently supported nor supportive for two people that don’t wish to roll into each other all night long. It should have been a more restful experience.
The look and feel, clean. Loved the mix of quirky and classy.

United StatesIt is a beautiful old inn, though recently updated. The grounds are peaceful with gardens in bloom, quiet rocking chairs, and an easy walk to water where we had our coffee on a swinging bench. I went birding and was impressed by the variety. Also, the hike up to overlook rock was a nice way to start the day. Finally, all of the staff was kind and helpful.
