I know this property very well because I have a lake cottage nearby. My cottage is not winter proof so I decided I would stay here when I needed to visit Baxter for some business. My stay was in January and it was extremely cold out, -18 below zero. The only problem was that there was almost nobody in the hotel and if I had gotten in trouble somehow or fallen or had a problem, it would’ve been very hard to find anybody to talk to. The restaurant was open and made me some takeout food. But it’s hard for me to give this a superior rating because really there was nothing going on there. It was dead quiet and I was one of probably five people staying in the entire complex.

The thermostat for the fireplace wasn't working so I only got it to work for a few minutes. Also, I tried to close the blinds, and they fell and hurt my shoulder.

The outdoor hot tub seemed like it wouldn't be a good idea in the cold climate, but it was my favorite part. Sitting in the hot tub in the snow was amazing!

I’d imagine in summer it’s crowded with smaller spaces like pool, beach, pickle ball areas aren’t very large.

There is one suggestion we stayed in one of the cabins, and although the sun is very beautiful and having that bright sun coming in in the bay windows or the big windows, it would be nice to have some sort of curtain or shades so that it wasn’t so blinding by the sun

But the space and everything was really nice would’ve loved to see it be nicer outside though, but it was snowing so it’s all good but still very pretty

We were given a cabin directly across the street from new construction, which we weren’t told about. This was a Thanksgiving retreat and the noise of the construction was loud. Certainly not ideal for a peaceful retreat. The staff should have told us and at least given us the option of other accommodations if available. For the price this was very disappointing. Also, none of the numerous tvs could not access regular channels. We called and were told to follow the directions in the resort packet. Of course we did this but to no avail. The following day we again complained. Staff was sent over and apparently all the tvs needed updating which we wouldn’t have been able to do. Even after the updating the main tv could only be controlled standing and pointing the remote to the side and back of tv. Certainly needs attention.

The 3 bedroom woodsmoke cabin was really nice, very modern with all amenities one could want.

A little tough to regulate room temp, but not a huge deal.

The view was spectacular! Bed was comfortable, hotel was quiet, and we loved the jacuzzi tub after a bitter cold night.

We were in room 101 The room directly above us was really loud. People running around (i think there were small children). This continued for over an hour.

Rooms were recently redone. TV was great. The pool, spa sauna, wonderful. Good food at restaurant and it was nice to have live music.

One of our family had to sleep on sofa bed and it was extremely uncomfortable. Had metal bracket that hits you in the spine. Please replace with better design. The bar can be loud but things quieted down by 11 or so.

The location was perfect… on the lake with boat launch, outdoor patio, beach, onsite bar & restaurant. It was quiet (we were there off-peak), clean & comfortable. Our room included a kitchenette & fireplace. The rooms are all lake-facing. Dogs are welcome! The best costumer service I’ve experienced in a very long time - The front desk staff went over & above. The service in the restaurant was great with our group as well.

I sign in front of building the building were to check in at would be nice. I really would have liked a print out of my bill. Or emailed to me right away. Also showed we had a jacuzzi tub in our room and there was not.

Everything was good but would be nice to have pool and sauna and hot tub open till 10pm not 8pm and if restaurant would be open every night. We were resort owners and these are the things I suggest and would think could improve it.

I really wish the bar/resturant had been open it was our 5th anniversary and it drastically changed our night by not being open. Pretty annoying but not a trip ruined.

Every staff we had contact with were friendly and helpful, even going out of their way. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean, and well stocked. One thing we were missing was quickly provided. The activity center was a fun place to spend a bit of time. Would absolutely stay again.

We had an issue with the wait staff at the restaurant, which we addressed with the manager the next morning.

The outdoor heated pool and outdoor hot was amazing in December! The sauna is very large as well. Views of the lake were beautiful. The live music at the bar was exceptional! We also really enjoyed the games in the arcade.
