Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyDuring nights, we had to close the window, because the highway was too loud. This might be different, if you have a room on the other side or closer to the ocean front. Breakfast was included, but not very good.
We stayed 5 nights and had a room on the 12th floor of the tower. The view was wonderful and we liked the design and the smaller size of the hotel. It is one of the oldest on Maui. The beach was dreamlike and much calmer than Ka'anapali beach close by. If you want more action, you can use the beach walk to go there in 15-20 mins. There are lot's of shops and restaurants at the Whaler's village. Water refill station and beach towels were for free.

BrazilThe staff isn’t nice, specially the front desk girls. With simple questions they barely answered and we saw them laughing after one of our questions, which was about if we could buy the Luau in the front desk - indeed when arriving at the Luau the information the front desk gave us was wrong. Besides that, the ladies organizing the breakfast weren’t nice either. The breakfast itself is more complicated than it should be and the food isn’t nice - it’a so much basic and not even tasteful. To finish, the internet connection is TERRIBLE, ir simply doesn’t work. How can a resort like this have a poor internet connection?
The location is the best possible, and so are the facilities. The hotel is complete, good rooms, comfortable bed, good gym and pool.

GermanyWe had our gripes which generally involved the behaviour of the staff. For some context, we are European and also do not expect to add gratuities (albeit we did throughout our stay. (1) There is a large car parking area and one really needs a car to get around the island. The hotel charged us 40 dollars a day to park here (not under valet) which is more or less the same as the rental for the car itself. (2) We paid fully for breakfast to remove the hassle of dealing with bills for breakfast daily. However we were daily presented with a cheque indicating $0.00 from an attendant looking for a tip for pouring coffee. Our friends were also reprimanded for bringing canned drinks to breakfast that were bought at the hotel shop (in the lobby) that is around 20 second walk away. (3) There was a lovely bbq and DJ on Sunday but there was music being played from two directions (no big deal). When my wife tried to ask the bartender could the music be turned off to just have the DJ he responded blunted "I don't know", shrugged her off and then insinuated waiting for a tip for the 33 dollar cost for two cocktails and bluntly refusing to even enquire about the music. In general, the behaviour of the local staff seemed to be the issue. Very blunt and always angled at requesting/receiving tips prior to providing a base level of courteous service. This became apparent when the supplementary kitchen serving staff were absolutely lovely and in no way reaching into our pockets. For example, a really nice polish boy was super polite and went over the top with recommendations while looking for nothing in return. To resolve: stop penalising people for having cars and train staff to be polite.
The resort itself is beautiful. Well places and right next to the beach. Not a crowded area or any major traffic which added to the feeling of peace. Rooms are clean, large and very comfortable. Nightly music is in a really nice tree canopy area. Well worth going to. Absolutely perfect place to watch the sunset!!

United StatesI would not go the all inclusive breakfast. We opted out and we were glad. Every morning when we came down there was a line of people-(tourists). However the food in the buffet is not worth the price. Better to eat off their menu, which was good, at your leisure and try some other breakfasts at some other resorts. Castaways, Sheraton and enjoy some different menus.
It is one of the older resorts, but have updated nicely- staff was super friendly. Note they are still making updates. But we wrrr fine it wasn’t noisy.

QatarPaid parking? Seriously? Why out of 2 pools one is relatively clean and the second one is always full of debris We were not offered welcome drink nor lei. Or is it only in the movies? “Branches” are not marked on the map, not possible to find the location for live music. The front desk sending in the wrong direction wasted a lot of time. The only person who knows what is where is an older lady who works in the morning. Asking anyone else about directions was only resulting in being sent to wrong places and wasting time.
Yoga, cultural centre and beach access made it unforgettable. All rooms have sea view. Gym is well equipped and empty most of the time.

Australiadaily resort fee for roughly only 2 beach towels are ridiculous. everything else is charged.... on site parking should be free when so many people are visiting during the day (Tennis, Beach and Luau). Breakfast line is very surprising when you see how many tables are empty....but not cleaned promptly after guess departure
Beach location, very quiet corner Resort being in a dead end. Room was spacious and view from balcony wonderful. lovely views over the other islands from the pool areas and restaurant.(sunset, catamaran, paddle...) we liked the daily evening music events in the garden.

United StatesI only stayed in one room so I can't speak for the entire hotel - however, the room showed signs of age and there is a pocket door into the shower/toilet that really should be modernized. The hardware on the door no longer closes the door tightly and the metal "handle" protrudes and can cause injury if you bump it accidentally.
It is a very "nostalgic" property - opened in 1962, it is the oldest resort on Maui. Authentic Hawaiian music played throughout the resort. Property is well maintained and beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful. The location in Ka'anapali is perfect!

United States-Towels guys were rude, unprofessional -Bartender friendly but the most expensive drinks happen to also be the worst drinks I’ve had on the trip -Bug infestation in the room -There was an unchecked obnoxious family staying there screaming racist remarks and bragging how they all pissed in the dirty pool which we didn’t go into.

IsraelThey don’t tell you in advance at breakfast that there are two options: buffet or ordering directly from a waiter. So when we took food from the buffet, they wanted to charge us \$10 for a few pieces of pineapple. In order to avoid being charged, we had to continue with the buffet, even though we wanted to order from the waitress. We booked a sea view room, but the room we received had only a partial sea view. Since we were on a high floor, the view was still nice, but considering we paid extra for a sea view, it feels like a bit of a scam to provide only a partial view without making that clear.
The location was excellent, with access to the beach. The rooms were spacious.
