Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No A/C Had to leave window open all night with homeless people hanging around doing drugs. It was noisy.

Can hear lots of walking running upstairs. Also really close to the freeway and when there's a lot of traffic it shakes the building. A little worrisome. I slept well
Beds were comfy. Room was older but good. We felt safe. Staff on duty at check in was awesome. Staff at check out was very nice and helpful. Pleasant people, pleasant stay.

Couldn't get the curtains closed completely and we were on the first floor. Due to location, lots of car noise until about 10 PM.

I didn't like having to pay $165 for a night, for a motel room that needed a good scrubbing.
The room looked clean when entering, but after looking closer there hadn't been a good scrubbing in the nooks and crannys for a long time it was filthy.

You’re in between 2 main streets, so it’s loud. The TV is small and the doors need to be painted

This motel is between 2 one way main roads. Very, very noisy, felt like we were in a tent alongside a main highway. It may have been because we had a window in our room with the highway only yards away, other rooms faced inwards and may not have been as bad. Only good side was at night the road was less busy. We saw nothing close by, you will need a vehicle to go out.
Room had window view of water (and highway!).

My wife complained of an odor in the room, that I could not detect. This is not a criticism, but it helps to know in advance that you should use the northwest entry to and from southbound 101, and the east, south entry/exit to northbound 101. You're right in the middle of the highway, and can hear a bit of traffic noise.
I liked the unusual location between the north and south bound lanes of Highway 101. Although the facility was dated in design and decor, the room appeared clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast covered the bases for a nutritious, if not luxurious, start to the day. The afternoon desk clerk was very helpful in suggesting sightseeing locations and provided a map to a beautiful overlook, where we could see wonderful vistas including schools of actively feeding fish and a pod of orcas near Simpson Reef. We also saw deer quite close on the drive at Cape Arauga.

Location is noisy from traffic, could not get the TV to work. Pillows were not great quality, rooms seem small and walls were super thin so you can hear everything
Staff was great and check in was very easy. For the price it was worth it . Great place when you need somewhere to rest up for a decent price.

Had trouble with key as door had a big gap and lots of cold air blowing in all night plus you hear everything outside including traffic due to gap

Our room key wouldn't work three different times so had to go to the office and have it reprogrammed. Remote for tv didn't work so took it to the office to fix. Lamp by bed didn't work. Light above bathroom sick quit working so had to have it fixed.
Great location! Nice friendly staff! Pet friendly! Comfortable bed and room.
